Did you have any concerns before coming to Japan?
I was worried about living in Japan. Well, the language is the point which I was the most worried about. Though I learned the Japanese language a little bit, it’s only a little bit.
Have you had any difficulties when you started a new life?
I feel the same difficulty even now about language, but it is getting better.I attended Japanese language course at Waseda, and I am getting used to the life in Japan.
So, the things are going well now.
How did you find out about Waseda University?
Firsty, I was interested in certain scholarship and Waseda was one of the universities which accepted that scholarship students*.
And, Professor YAMASAKI. He is very popular, used be a chairman of acoustic society of Japan.
All of people are surprised at hearing that I study at Waseda, because Waseda is really famous.

Why did you choose Waseda University?
Because Waseda is very famous.
How did you get information for our programs?
My university gave me the information.
How is your life in Japan and Waseda University? What are you doing on your free time?
Now, the life in Waseda is comfortable. I stay at the dorm, and I can easily commute the university by walk about 20 minutes.In my free time, I study SHAMISEN! It is a Japanese traditional music instrument.
After arriving Tokyo, I went to an event held by JICA and I watched and heard the SHAMISEN for my first time there, it was interesting; then I decided to study if I have opportunity. I thought that studying Japanese traditional thing, which was different from my culture was good for me.
It is not difficult to play SHAMISEN. I enjoy it on my weekend. If I have an opportunity, I’d like to try to wear KIMONO, too.
How are the relationships with your supervisor and lab members?
Both Professor YAMASAKI and Professor OIKAWA are very nice persons, and I feel their warm hearts.I am the first and only one international student in the lab!
Communication with other labs member is a little bit difficult, but everyone is so kind that I think I am lucky. I communicate with them in English and sometimes they teach me Japanese.
Currently, I am interested in Schlieren imaging which we use this method to visualize and investigate behavior of sound wave by using high speed camera.
It is so important if we know the behavior and characteristic of sound in each environment in different rooms or different concert halls because it help us to design, analyse and control the sound in different environments. The reason that I am interested in Schlieren method because it use the theory of image processing that I used to do research in Master degree.

If you would like to come to study in Japan, Waseda University is the best alternative for you!! Not only Waseda is the very famous University in Japan but you can also get many good experiences from here. You can make many both of International and Japanese friends and can learn both of English and Japanese language altogether.

ฝากข้อความถึงน้องๆคนไทยที่กำลังตัดสินใจมาเรียนต่อที่ญี่ปุ่น: พี่ขอคอร์นเฟิร์มว่า มหาวิทยาลัย วาเซดะเป็นทางเลือกอันดับต้นๆที่น้องๆไม่ควรที่จะมองข้าม ในประเทศไทยคนส่วนมาก จะได้ยินแต่ชื่อมหาวิทยาลัยโตเกียว หรือ โทได ที่เป็นมหาวิทยลัยที่มีชื่อเสียง แต่ในญี่ปุ่น วาเซดะก็เป็นมหาวิทยาลัยเอกชนที่มีชื่อเสียงไม่แพ้กัน นอกจากนี้ที่ วาเซดะ ยังมีวิทยาลัยนานาชาติ ที่มีนักเรียนต่างชาติมากมายสนใจเข้ามาเรียน น้องๆจะได้เรียนรู้วัฒนธรรมที่หลากหลาย ได้ทั้งภาษาญี่ปุ่นและภาษาอังกฤษ และได้รับประสบการณ์ดีๆมากมายจากที่นี่ พี่มาเรียนต่อปริญญาเอกที่นี่ เป็นเวลา 6 เดือนแล้ว รู้สึกมีความสุขกับการเรียนและความเป็นอยู่ที่นี่มากๆ พี่รอน้องๆอยู่นะคะ แล้วเจอกันค่ะ
