Schedule for Spring 2025 entrance ceremonies

The University will be holding the Spring 2025 entrance ceremonies on April 1-2 for all undergraduate and graduate schools. The ceremonies will be split into multiple sessions over the two days. Please see below for more information.
In order to ensure the safety of attendees and control the impact on traffic in the area, only new students are invited to attend the ceremony. A live broadcast viewing area will be set up on the Waseda Campus for guardians of students. The Spring 2025 entrance ceremonies will also be broadcasted online. (Subtitles will be available in English and Japanese. The URL link will be posted at a later date.)
Note:
- There may be school specific entrance ceremony events that are separate to the University’s main entrance ceremony. Details on the events organized by each school, including whether or not such events will be held, will be announced on their respective websites when decided. Please check them regularly.

Live broadcast viewing area for guardians of students:
- Live broadcast viewing areas will be prepared for the guardians of students in Building 14 and 15 of the Waseda campus. (The broadcast shown on the televisions within the classroom will be the same as the internet broadcast with subtitles in Japanese and English.)
- The Waseda Campus will be crowded due to activities to welcome new students, so if you are planning to head to the live broadcast area, please follow the route indicated on the map below.

Additional Notes:
- Doors to the venue of the entrance ceremony will open and the simultaneous broadcast will begin an hour before the start of each ceremony. Entering the venue of the entrance ceremony (Waseda Arena) may take a considerable amount of time as it is expected to be crowded. Please arrive at the venue 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony or you may not be able to enter the venue on time.
- The live broadcast with Japanese and English subtitles will also be displayed on a monitor inside the venue where the graduation will take place.
- There will be 6 signs for commemorative photos (that say: “Waseda Entrance Ceremony” in Japanese) in Okuma Garden on Waseda Campus. The garden will be open from 8:00 am. Make sure to come early for pictures because we expect it will become crowded.
- Use public transportation to come to the venue. If you must come by car, please use nearby coin-operated parking spaces. Do not park on the streets.
- If you need any special assistance to attend the ceremony (e.g., note-taking, sign language interpretation, seating assistance, seat reservations, attending the ceremony with a small child, etc.), please contact the General Affairs Division two weeks in advance regarding your inquiry so that we can try to accommodate your needs.
- Information regarding individual undergraduate and graduate schools’ entrance ceremonies and awarding of diplomas will be available at a later date on each department’s homepage. Please contact the individual department with any questions.
