Campus Tour

Nishi-Waseda Campus Tour

Nishi-Waseda Campus Tour will take you to the normally unseen areas such as experimental facilities, classrooms etc. guided by our current students sharing the university history and episodes from campus life. Anyone regardless of expertise is welcome to join the tour.

Two Types of Tours

  1. Regular Tour for a few people (family or friends). To make a reservation for a Regular Tour, please click “here“.
  2. Group Tour for a group (five or more people). To make a reservation for a Group Tour, please click “here

Main Attractions

Student tour guides will show you around the education/research facilities, experimental laboratories, classrooms, cafeteria, student lounge, etc. on Nishi-Waseda Campus for about an hour. Visiting research offices and observing classes are not included in the tour course.

How to reserve Regular Tour

*The tile of the email should be “Reserving a Regular Campus Tour”.
*We will inform you by email whether we can accept your reservation or not.
*If you have any questions, please feel free to inquire us at the same email address above.

Notes of reservation

  • The number of participants for each tour is fixed, so preliminary reservation is required. Please note that we may not be able to accept last minute reservations.
  • Except for severe weather conditions, such as typhoons, campus tours are conducted on rainy and sunny days.
  • If you are late more than 30 minutes, you may not participate in the tour.
  • You can reserve a tour for one person.
  • If you are a group of five or more, please reserve a Group Tour by clicking “here
  • Treatment of personal data: We may refer to the information collected at the time of making a reservation for our future tour planning. We will not provide your personal data to a third party without your consent.

Group Tour and Reservation


  • Now! We are accepting reservations for Group tour on and after May 2018.
  • We do not accept reservations for Nishi-Waseda Campus Tour (Group Tour)from January 2018 to March 2018 due to   University’s events : winter vacation,
    examination period, entrance examinations and spring vacation.


  • Group Tours are available (Mon through Fri) from 9:30-16:30.
  • We are unable to conduct Group Tours during the periods of Summer Holidays, Winter Holidays, Entrance Examinations, Regular Examinations, Open Campus, Rikoten (University Festival) and when Regular Tours are scheduled to be conducted.
  • We may not be able to accept reservations other than above listed school events for some reasons.
  • We are unable to arrange Group Tours when other groups have already reserved your desired date/time.
  • Group Tours may be cancelled due to severe weather such as typhoons.

How to reserve a Group Tour

  • Please download the reservation form here pdf/word.
  • Please fill out the form and send it by fax or email attachment.
  • You will receive a confirmation email from us later.
  • Please check the details for your visit (time, meeting place etc.) on “the confirmation form for Group Tour” sent to you by mail later.

Notes of reservation

  • Group Tours are designed for students in elementary, middle and high schools, professional schools and other groups. For the individuals, please click “here” for Regular Tour reservation
  • Group Tour will be available for a group composed of 5 to a maximum of 30 people.
  • Preliminary reservation is required. Please make a reservation at least two months before your desired date.
  • A reservation should be made by the leader (teacher or representative) of the group. We do not accept reservations from travel agents.
  • If there are any changes in the date or the number or participants, please notify us 1 month prior to the tour date. Please note that we may not be able to accept your reservations for the next opportunity if there is a significant change in the number of participants or if it is too short notice.
  • The maximum of parking spaces is for two motor-coaches at the Nishi-Waseda Campus. We will not be able to accept Group Tour reservations if the parking spaces are already full.
  • Group Tour take approximately 60 minutes, but we would like you to plan an extra hour into your schedule.

Campus visit (Self-Guided Tour)


  • Campus visit (self-guided tour) is available for those who cannot attend regular/group tours.
  • Campus visits are possible on weekdays from 9:30 to 16:30 during the periods below: Spring Semester: Early April – Late July Fall Semester: Early September – Early February
  • We accept visitors only outside of the regular examination periods and long vacations.
  • We accept visitors on national holidays when there are classes but not on special holidays designated by the university.
  • Please refer to Waseda University Academic Calendar for details.

Available Areas to Visit

  • Visitors can only visit and look around limited areas (listed below) on Nishi-Waseda Campus. Please understand that self-guided visitors cannot enter classrooms or laboratories. List of available areas to visit

    • General Affairs Office (1F, Bldg. 51)
    • Atrium space (1F, Bldg. 55)
    • Cafeterias (B1F, Bldg. 56 and 1F, Bldg. 63)
      *only during opening hours
    • College CO-OP stores, book stores (B1F, Bldg. 56 and 1F, Bldf.63)
      *only during opening hours
      *Sometimes the areas listed above may be restricted due to university events or renovation.

Important Notes for Self-Guided Tour

  • Please do not make loud noises or disturb the classes and research activities.
  • When you take pictures on campus, please do not use flash, especially near the classrooms and laboratories.
  • Pictures of yourself or family members are allowed but please avoid taking photos of other people.
  • We do not allow media agencies to take photos on campus without permission. We reserve the right to stop taking photos.
