Schedule for Spring 2025 graduation ceremonies – Waseda University
Departmental Diploma Ceremonies Click here for details.
※Diploma will be given in exchange of the student ID card.
※As for the Doctoral Degree Ceremony, we will inform to graduates when details are finalized.
※For those who are enrolling in Master, Doctoral, or  5-year Doctoral course (Ikkansei) in April, student should also refer to the note “For those who are going to graduate school” stated in the end.

NOTE

  • Please complete the “Career Path Determination Report” in advance via MyWaseda.

  • Those who have not returned a book to the university library cannot receive their diplomas on the day of the diploma presentation. In such cases, return the book to the library immediately.
  • If the student appoints the proxy for receiving the diploma, the proxy needs to present the graduating student ID, a letter of proxy and the proxy’s own ID. Click here to download a power of attorney form.
  • If students are unable to pick up the diploma during the above period, they can visit and pick it up at the Academic & Student Affairs Section, Center for Science and Engineering. (Building 51, 1st floor). For those who are abroad due to unavoidable reasons, please refer to here.

Schedule for issuing the Certificate of Graduation

Certificates of Graduation can be obtained from the automated certificate-issuing machines from March 15 onward.

  • Graduates who need a certificate are highly recommended to obtain that between March 15th and Graduation day, using the automated certificate-issuing machines because the counters will be busy on the graduation and commencement day.
  • Your student identification card will be collected when you receive your diploma on the graduation and commencement day. You cannot use the automated certificate-issuing machines after the card has been collected, and please apply at the counter. (You will need to provide identification, and your certificate will be issued to you on the following day.)

【For those who are going to graduate school】
If you apply to continue your Waseda ID when you move to a new student registry, your eligibility to use the automated certificate issuing machine will change and you will no longer be able to issue certificates under your current registry. Please make sure to obtain a certificate related to your current program before transferring your Waseda ID to the new student registry.
Apart from issuing certificates, you should also complete the necessary procedures such as referring to your current grade or registering TA/RA work shift in prior to setting the transfer.

Note that our office in the Center for Science & Engineering is closed and no certificates can be issued on the graduation day, Sundays, and holidays.

【For Those Who Are Going to Graduate From School】
If you apply to continue your Waseda ID when you move to a new student registry, your eligibility to use the automated certificate issuing machine will change and you will no longer be able to issue certificates under your current registry. Please make sure to obtain a certificate related to your current program before transferring your Waseda ID to the new student registry.

Other than issuing certificates, if you still need to complete procedures with your current registry, such as checking grades, inputting TA/RA working records, etc., please complete them before taking procedure to have your current Waseda mail address continued in your new registry.

When You Are Unable to Be Present on the Day

Your diploma will be issued after the day of graduation and commencement in exchange for your student ID card at the Academic and Student Affairs Section in the Center for Science and Engineering. (1st floor of Bldg. 51) If you are abroad after the day of the graduation ceremony due to unavoidable circumstances, please see here.

Procedures by Proxy Person

Be sure to bring:

  • Delegating student’s Student ID Card
  • Letter of Commission (Download Letter of Commission here   )
  • Proxy’s ID (Passport, Driver’s License, Insurance Card, etc.)

Parents’ Day

Parents’ Day in this Academic Year (Academic Year 2025) will be held from 9:00AM to 18:00PM on November 1st (Sat.).
