早稲田大学は、1882年10月に東京専門学校として開学して以来、学問の府として長い歴史を築いてきました。創立の功労者である大隈重信や小野梓をはじめ、多くの人々の尽力により、今日に至るまで膨大な学術成果と人的資産を蓄積し、日本のみならず近隣諸国にも広く貢献してきました。
早稲田大学歴史館は、2018年3月20日に開館し、こうした本学の歩みや建学の理念、ならびに関係者の事蹟を明らかにし、未来へと継承することを目的としています。
あわせて、教育・研究・社会貢献にわたる大学の現在の姿を体系的に紹介し、学内外へ広く公開することで、次代を担う世代にとって学びと気づきの場となることを目指しています。
館内は、常設展示3エリア（「久遠の理想」「進取の精神」「聳ゆる甍」）および企画展示室で構成され、早稲田大学の過去・現在・未来をつなぐ拠点として、継続的に展示内容を更新しながら、その多面的な姿を発信しています。また、ミュージアムショップやカフェを併設し、展示鑑賞にとどまらない滞在型のミュージアムとしての機能を備えています。
Floor Guide
"Eternal Ideals" Area (Permanent Exhibition I): This area traces the lives and ideals of those who contributed greatly to the founding of our university, along with items related to them, and conveys the founding spirit and origins of Waseda that were born out of the struggle with the times.
"Enterprising Spirit" Area (Permanent Exhibition II): The ongoing Waseda University, which has always taken on the challenge of reform since its founding, is presented in an easy-to-understand manner from a variety of perspectives, including the evolution of the campus and progress in globalization.
"Towering Roof Tiles" Area (Permanent Exhibition III): This area introduces a wide range of portraits of outstanding alumni and associates of our university, with the fields changing periodically to include politics, economics, academia, culture, performing arts, and sports.
"Café Clio": Enjoy coffee and sweets. The open terrace in the courtyard offers a refreshing moment.
In the shop, you can purchase various university goods, including original Waseda University History Museum goods. There is also a university information counter, which provides campus information and event information.

At the museum shop, you can purchase museum and Waseda goods. Please use them as a memento of your visit. In addition, at the information counter, you can get campus information and pamphlets for undergraduate and graduate programs. We also recommend them to students taking entrance exams and those hoping to enter Waseda University.
