Saga Saga City

Saga City, Saga Prefecture

Purpose

In 2006, we signed a Basic Agreement on Cooperation with Saga Prefecture, the birthplace of Okuma Shigenobu, and have been carrying out a variety of collaborative educational and research projects since then.
Additionally, Saga City is home to the Okuma Shigenobu Memorial Museum, which opened to commemorate the 125th anniversary of Lord Okuma's birth, and his former home (birthplace), a nationally designated historic site. The museum holds special exhibitions in conjunction with the Saga Castle Town Doll's Festival from mid-February to late March each year, and also cooperates with the Okuma Festival in early May.
