卒業式・入学式へのご参加を予定されていたご家族の皆様へ
今年度、早稲田大学では、新型コロナウイルス感染症拡大防止のため細心の注意を払いながら対応を進めて参りました。このため学生の皆さんの多くは、キャンパスに来て学ぶことのできない日々が続き、在学生のご家族の皆様にも大変なご心労をおかけしたことと存じます。また、新入生ならびにご家族の皆様におかれましても、このような状況の中で、受験の年を迎えられ、不安の日々をお過ごしになられたことと拝察致します。
新型コロナウイルス感染症の収束が見通せない中、本学では、卒業式および入学式については、卒業生、修了生ならびに新入生にとってかけがえのない機会であると考え、対面による式典の実施について慎重に検討を進めてまいりました。その結果、2月26日付でご案内（https://www.waseda.jp/top/news/71728）致しましたとおり、学生およびご家族の皆様の健康と安全に配慮し、新型コロナウイルス感染症拡大を防止する観点から、各式典の参加対象をそれぞれ卒業生、修了生ならびに新入生のみに限定して実施することと致しました。
各式典へのご参加を予定されていたご家族の皆様には大変恐縮に存じますが、何卒ご理解を賜りますようお願い致します。また、前述の配慮により、ご家族の皆様に式典の様子を同時中継でご覧いただく会場等の用意もございませんので、キャンパスへのご来場はお控え下さいますようお願い申し上げます。

To families and guests who planned on attending the graduation/entrance ceremonies
This academic year, Waseda University has implemented preventative measures against Covid-19 with utmost caution. As such, days where most students were unable to study on campus have continued, causing the current students and their family members to feel anxious. Moreover, we understand that the newly-admitted students and their family members must have felt worried about having to go through the application process in this kind of unprecedented situation.
Though when the Covid-19 pandemic will end remains uncertain, after careful consideration, Waseda University has decided to hold in-person graduation and entrance ceremonies because we believe that the occasion is a once-in-a-life-time milestone for graduates and newly-admitted students. As announced on February 26, 2021 (https://www.waseda.jp/top/en/news/74297), we will be holding the in-person graduation and entrance ceremonies while prioritizing the health and safety of our students and their family members. In order to implement thorough preventative measures against Covid-19, invitation for attendance to each in-person graduation/entrance ceremony will be limited to graduates/newly-admitted students of the respective schools/graduate schools only.
We sincerely regret to inform you of this if you are a family member or a friend who was planning on attending the in-person ceremony. In addition, please do not come to campus on the day of the ceremony since we will not be streaming the event live on campus as we did in previous years for the reason mentioned above.
On the day of the ceremony, we will be streaming the event live online, and we invite anyone who is interested to attend the ceremony virtually. (A link for the live online streaming of the ceremonies will be posted before the event.)
