早稲田大学各務記念材料技術研究所（以下材研）は、平成30年に「環境整合材料基盤技術共同研究拠点」として、文部科学省の「特色ある共同利用・共同研究拠点」に採択されました。これは、これまで材研が培ってきた①幅広い材料の基盤技術に関する先導的な学術的研究拠点としての役割、②多数の先端的な分析装置や試料作製装置の保有と、多数のスタッフによる管理・共同利用の運営、③幅広い材料分野の研究者・技術者との情報・ノウハウの共有とネットワークの構築、をさらに発展させ、新たに「環境整合材料分野」に特化した研究所として生まれ変わることを意味します。

こうした中で、材研は環境整合材料基盤技術共同研究拠点として「長寿命化」「リサイクル」「省エネルギー」の3つの方向性を重視し、(a) 環境に優しい構造材料・機能性材料の基盤技術およびその材料物性の学理の確立と革新的な環境整合材料の創製・社会実装、　(b) 環境整合材料研究の共同研究・共同利用の推進と、我が国の材料創製と評価に関する基盤技術発展への寄与、 (c) 様々な材料分野の研究者への学術的な交流の場の提供と異分野融合の推進、を目的として活動します。

この目的のために、材研では共同研究を募集します。共同研究の公募は年に1～2度で、研究期間は1年です。共同研究のテーマについては、毎年材研が設定する重点課題に沿ったものとします。採択された共同研究については、研究者による材研の共同利用装置が利用可能となり、また共同研究や共同利用装置の利用に際して、旅費・滞在費が補助されます。

なお、本拠点では「共同研究」の他に、1回の測定が1日で終わるような短期の実験・試験を「共同利用」として随時受け付けています。詳細は「共同利用について」をご覧ください。

令和7年度（2025年度）は「長寿命化」「４Ｒ（Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Replace）」「省エネルギー」を基本キーワードとして環境整合材料に関する「プロセス」「構造」もしくは「物性」に関する研究９つを重点課題とします。

なお、共同研究の申請にあたっては事前に対応教員と打ち合わせの上申請書を作成してください。展開する研究内容に即した分野をマトリックス表より選択し申請書に記入願います。

大学、公的研究機関に所属する研究者で、博士またはそれに準ずる研究者とします。企業の研究者も申請可能ですが、上記の趣旨に基づき共同研究の成果は原則として公開するものであることをご理解の上、申請してください。大学院生、学部生は研究分担者として応募が可能です。なお、研究代表者は、複数課題に応募することは出来ません。

研究期間は、採択日から年度末までとします。同一の研究課題での継続申請を希望する場合、あらためて次年度以降に申請することができます。ただし同一の研究課題の継続は、合計で最長3年とします。

共同研究に必要な旅費、滞在費について、研究分担者についても早稲田大学が定める規定にもとづき補助します。また装置の共同利用については、所定の使用料をお支払いいただきます。

1. 共同研究を希望する場合、研究代表者は、研究内容について、事前に本研究所研究員（別途リストあり）と十分な打合せをしてください。
2. 共同研究の申請に当たっては、「早稲田大学各務記念材料技術研究所共同研究申請書」をダウンロードしてください。
3. 記入した申請書を、件名を「ZAIKEN共同研究拠点公募研究」として、zaikenjointjimu_at_list.waseda.jp　(※ _at_ は @ に置き換えてください)までメール添付でお送りください。
4. 研究活動の開始前までに「研究活動における不正行為への対応等に関するガイドライン」（平成26年8月26日文部科学大臣決定）にて求められている研究活動における不正行為を未然に防止するための研究倫理教育の受講等をしていることが前提となります。

5. 申請期間は令和7年2月5日（水）～令和7年3月5日（水）です。

1. 共同研究の申請書は共同利用・共同研究拠点実行委員会で審査され、採否が決定します。
2. 審査結果については、令和7年3月中4月上旬頃に、研究代表者あてにメールにて連絡します。採択された共同研究課題については、課題名と研究代表者名をホームページに掲載しますので、予めご了承ください。
3. 共同研究に採用された場合、研究分担者も含めて「利用資格申請書」を提出していただきます。

共同研究に参加する学生は、学生教育研究災害傷害保険またはこれと同等以上の保険へ加入してください。

研究者用の宿泊施設は特にご用意しておりません。近隣のホテルなどをご利用ください。（詳細は、拠点事務局にお問い合わせください。）

研究期間終了後、共同研究報告書を提出していただきます。「早稲田大学各務記念材料技術研究所共同研究報告書」をダウンロードしていただき、記入の上、令和8年（2026年）3月31日までにzaikenjointjimu_at_list.waseda.jp (※ _at_ は @ に置き換えてください)までメール添付（Word形式）でお送りください。

また、研究者の学術的交流のために、採択された共同研究課題について、本研究所主催の研究会等での発表をお願いします。

共同研究の成果について論文を発表する場合は、当該論文の謝辞の欄に下記の文章を課題番号とともに付記してください。課題番号（project No.）は環境整合材料基盤技術共同研究拠点　共同研究課題　採択一覧からご確認ください。

また、論文が出版された場合は、pdf fileを拠点事務局へメールにて提出してください。

原則として、申請者の所属する機関に帰属します。ただし、本学の知的貢献が認められる場合における該当発明等の取り扱いについては、別途本学と協議するものとします。なお、共同研究から知的財産権が得られた場合、出願書類等を1部、材料技術研究所へ送付してください。

Kagami Memorial Research Institute for Materials Science and Technology (ZAIKEN) at Waseda University invite to submit a proposal for joint research. The theme of joint research has to be related to one of the priority areas shown below. Upon acceptance of the proposal, traveling expense and accommodation fee for visiting Waseda University will be supported.

Priority Areas

In FY2025, we will focus on nine research themes related to “process,” “molecular structure,” or “physical properties” of environment-conscious materials with the basic keywords of “Prolongation of service life,” “4R（Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Replace）,” and “Energy saving”.

In addition, when applying for joint research, please discuss with the corresponding professor in advance and prepare an application form. Please select a research field from the matrix table and fill in the application form in accordance with the research content to be developed.

Eligibility for application
Researchers at university or at research institute that have Ph. D are eligible to apply for this joint research.

Duration of the joint research
The duration of joint research is from the day of acceptance to the end of next March (the end of the fiscal year). You can continue the research upon the acceptance of the proposal submitted next year, though the duration cannot exceed three years in total.

Expense for joint research
Traveling expense and accommodation fee necessary for joint research will be supported.

Procedure for application
(1) Before submitting your proposal, you are requested to discuss it with a faculty of ZAIKEN at Waseda University (“host” faculty).
(2) Download the application form.
(3) Fill in the form and submit it by email to zaikenjointjimu_at_list.waseda.jp (replace _at_ with @) as an attached file on or after February 5, 2025. The deadline is March 5, 2025.
(4) Acceptance or rejection of the proposal will be notified by email no later than March 31in early April 2025.
(5) Titles and the names of the main applicants for the accepted proposals will be published to the WEB.
(6) Researchers are required to attend the educational program for research integrity before starting the joint research.

Submission of a report
You are requested to submit a report when you finish the joint research. Download a prescribed form of the report, fill in it, and submit it by email to zaikenjointjimu_at_list.waseda.jp (replace _at_ with @) as an attached file (Microsoft Word format) no later than March 31, 2026.

Submission of a paper to a journal
When you submit a paper on the result of the joint research to a journal, the following sentence should appear as an acknowledgment.
