・Title: AI in Language Education: Enhancing Teacher Well-being and Student Engagement
・Day and Time: July 18, 2024 6:30pm-
- Abstract:
Artificial intelligence (AI) is making waves in language education, transforming how we teach and learn. This seminar will focus on how AI tools can enhance English academic writing and their impact on teacher well-being and students’ engagement.
We will explore AI-powered tools like automated feedback systems and intelligent content recommendation engines, demonstrating how they can personalize learning and improve language proficiency assessments. From the students’ perspective, we will examine how AI can make learning more engaging and supportive, helping them achieve their academic goals. Additionally, we will address the ethical considerations of using AI in education and the importance of balancing technology with human-centered teaching approaches.
The increasing integration of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Bing, and Grammarly in educational settings has shown considerable promise in enhancing language learning and boosting learner confidence, as indicated by recent studies. However, the impact of these tools on teachers’ emotions and well-being, particularly those teaching language as a foreign or second language, has not been extensively explored.
For teachers, we will discuss the opportunities and challenges of integrating AI in the classroom and how it can affect their well-being. Findings from my recent research projects on language teachers’ emotional challenges and experiences with using AI tools in their teaching practices will be shared.
Welcome to join us to discover how AI is shaping the future of language education, and how it can benefit both educators and learners.
