The School of International Liberal Studies (SILS) is located in the newly constructed Building 11 in the heart of Waseda University’s historic Waseda campus. The main facilities available to SILS students are introduced below:

Reading RoomB1

ph_facility01The student reading room is shared by students in the School of Commerce and SILS and can be found on B1 of building 11. It ctains a large English book collection, audio-visual materials and reference books for university lessons. Audio-visual materials can also be viewed here.

Open hours (During Terms):
9:00 to 21:00, Mondays through Fridays
9:00 to 18:00 on Saturdays
*Closed on Sundays and Holidays.

From April 1, 2011, office hours will be extended.
During the time that classes are in effect, the hours will be changed from Monday-Friday,
9:00-21:00 to Monday-Friday, 9:00-22:00
(No changes will be made for Saturdays or holidays).

Global Network Center4F

ph_facility07This center offers Study Abroad Consultation and career development guidance to mainly SILS students.

Open hours (During Terms):
10:00 to 17:00, Mondays through Fridays

Study Room1F

ph_facility03This room offers reading and studying space and is shared by students in the School of Commerce as well as SILS. Photocopying machines are located outside this room, at the entrance nearest to Building 10.

7:30 to 22:20, Mondays through Saturdaysf
*Closed on Sundays and Holidays.

Student Lounge2F

ph_facility04The student lounge is located on the second floor and available for use by Waseda University students. In addition, convenience stores are located on both the first and second floor for quick refreshments between lessons.

8:00 to 22:00, Mondays through Saturdays

ph_facility05Course Registration guidance and Student Life support is available at the SILS office. Near the entrance to the office, a student volunteer project – the‘SILS Library Project’ offers a collection of recycled books.

*Closed on Sundays and Holidays.


ph_facility06From the fifth to the ninth floor, there are classrooms and seminar rooms of varying sizes. Although there are many other classrooms in the Waseda campus, SILS students have at least half of their lessons in these classrooms.
