Applicant Qualifications

Students who have completed or are scheduled to complete a 12-year non-Japanese education curriculum (including ethnic and international schools in Japan) by March 31, 2021.

Applicant Qualifications

Students who have completed or will complete a 12-year education curriculum by September 20, 2021.

Selection

Screening of the documents submitted with your application will produce one of three results: Pass, Wait-Listed, or Fail.

Pass  You will be admitted to SILS without any further interviews or other tests.
Wait-Listed Your application has been wait-listed. We will offer admission to a certain number of applications on the waitlist if some of our successful applicants choose not to accept our offer. Interview may be required for some applicants.
Fail  –

For the AO September Entry, applicant can apply for either the Early Admission or the Regular Admission, but not both.

Schedule: 2021 AO September Entry

Application Period Early Admission:  January 8, 2021 – January 21, 2021

Regular Admission: January 22, 2021 – February 25, 2021

Qualifications
Candidates who fulfill all of the following requirements are eligible to apply:

1. Those who are currently enrolled as a 1st year student at Waseda University.

*Your enrollment year will be determined by your student number and any delays caused by study abroad, leave of absence from the university, etc., will not be taken into account.

2. The number of credits obtained

Those who are anticipated to obtain a total of 30 credits or more at the school to which they currently belong. Credits in this case refers only those which are counted towards graduation at your present school.

3. Conditions concerning English ability

Those who have taken one of the following English proficiency test and have obtained a score which meets the requirements below:

-TOEFL (iBT) 79 or higher

-IELTS (Academic) 6.5 or higher

* Only tests which have been taken on or after November 1st, 2018 will be valid.
* Submission of the test score is optional for those whose first language is English.

*For details of the applicant qualifications, please refer to the Application Guide.
*If an applicant is unable to obtain 30 credits at the current school, the applicant will not be able to enroll in SILS.

*In an event that a applicant is unable to obtain 30 credits from the school he/she currently belongs to, he /she will not be eligible for transfer.
