日本語ページはこちらPlease be sure to read and understand “Important Notes on Scholarly Misconduct” before registering for courses. Don’t commit academic misconduct. If you do, you will be suspended! (This rule applies to all courses offered within Waseda University.)
-If a student is found to have committed scholarly misconduct, in principle he/she will be suspended indefinitely and the grades for all subjects registered for the semester in which the misconduct took place will be invalidated (=failed).
-When identifying scholarly misconduct, it does not matter whether the conduct was intentional or otherwise.

※Please register only 1 course on the Course Registration webpage. If you register 2 or more courses, the extra courses will be chosen at random by the system and you will get an error message. You must be a second year student or higher to register for Intermediate courses, and a third year student or higher for Advanced courses. Although English test scores are not required, the courses are aimed for students who have a TOEFL ITP score of 530 points or more.
Courses outside SILS available for exclusively for SILS students

Some courses at the School of Commerce can be registered
during the designated period before 3rd Course Registration Period.

- Basic Science Laboratory at the Faculty of Science and Engineering
Those students who obtained the credits with the excellent mark from the designated courses may be permitted to take “Basic Science Laboratory “(Fall Semester only, 2nd to 5th Period) conducted at Nishiwaseda Campus.
Designated Courses are all three courses below;
- Introduction to Physical Science 01
- Principles of Chemistry 01
- Life and Environment

Guides/Important Notice
Concentration
SILS established the Concentration Programme in academic year 2016. Students who meet the requirements of each Concentration can be issued a “Certificate of Completion” by following the designated process.
Requirements
The requirements for receiving the completion are as below:
1. To meet the graduation requirements of SILS
2. To apply for the certificate of completion (The university will post notification about the process on the My Waseda etc at a later date.)
*Application forms will be sent from MyWaseda by the end of June for September graduates and by the early December for March graduates.
3. To earn the required credits for that concentration.
The minimum number of required credits is 24 credits:
・Introductory courses : 2~6 credits
・Intermediate courses: 8~16 credits
・Advanced courses : 8~16 credits
・Advanced Seminar and Senior Thesis (applicable students only):0~10 credits
To sign up for a Certificate of Completion for a Concentration Course, note the following points;
1. Students can complete only one concentration course.
2. Submit the application for completion once you receive the notification via MyWaseda and to your Waseda E-mail. If you do not apply for the completion, you will not receive any certificate regarding the concentration. Those who graduate in September will be notified at the end of June, and those in March in early December.
3.Credits earned after April 1st 2012 will be counted as credits to complete the Concentration.
4.Credits of specified subjects earned as a Non-degree Student will not be counted as credits to complete the Concentration.
5. A Certificate of Completion will be issued at the time of graduation.

Advanced Seminar and Senior Thesis
The Advanced Seminar and the Senior Thesis was mandatory for the students who entered SILS in 2008 and before. From 2009 it was changed to selective, but still it is highly encouraged. For more detail see Page 9 on SILS Guidebook for Students and Page 38 of the Course Registration Guide, as well as the Advanced Seminar Registration Guideline posted each semester.

- Submission of Senior Thesis (2015.11.24)
Once the student starts taking the Advanced Seminar, the Submission of the Senior Thesis is mandatory before the graduation. The Senior Thesis is registered along with the Advanced Seminar usually in 8th semester. Those two courses cannot be taken separately.
