Recipients of the following scholarships are determined based on the results of admission to SILS. Eligible recipients will be notified by the SILS office during the enrollment procedure period. No prior application is required. Note that the payment of these scholarships will be made after your enrollment.
Waseda ranks at the top of Japanese universities in terms of both the number of scholarship recipients and the total funds disbursed. All Waseda-funded scholarships are outright grants rather than loans.
At SILS, international students who wish to apply for scholarships are required to complete the designated online scholarship registration form by the designated deadline. Details will be announced in the freshmen’s orientation materials.
Please note that all the scholarships have screening, which means that you may not be able to receive any scholarships as a result of screening. As the scholarships for international students are quite competitive, we strongly advise you to have a firm financial plan before coming to Japan.
An overview of different scholarship programs can be found on Center for International Education’s website.
