If Waseda Moodle is in operation for longer period or you take a quiz with time limit, it is highly recommended to close your browser and log in once again beforehand. For security reasons, Waseda Moodle is set to be logged out automatically after a certain period, which may result in not completing the submission of assignments or quizzes.

It will be posted on MyWaseda and IT Service Navi, in case we experience some disruptions with on-demand video viewing across the university and such disruption is restored. We kindly ask you to take your time and to watch it again.

Important notices for taking online courses will be sent to your Waseda email. Also, it may be posted only in Moodle’s announcements or other contact tools without sending email. Please follow the instructions of your instructors for each course. Please check your mail box and Moodle annoucements etc. several times per day.

Access may be congested on the first day of the class or the starting time of each period. It is recommended that you check in advance instructions from the lecturer about tools or materials to be used.

You are requested to have the accurate knowledge of the security and copyright. Apart from the leakage of your personal information, please be aware of the personal information and portrait rights of others. In addition, there are certain rules to follow especially for online classes (including activities on Waseda Moodle) as well as notes for working on reports and other assignments on internet. Violation of these rules may result in disciplinary action, such as expulsion from the university or academic suspension.

How to contact in case of problems

You may have some questions or concerns about taking an online class. If that’s the case, visit the Learn Anywhere site first and use search and chatbots to find the information you need. We are making preparations every day at the university so that you can go to class with peace of mind. We look forward to welcoming you to join our classes online.

If you have any difficulties for taking online courses, in order to resolve your problem smoothly, please check at first if you have received a notice about your concern in your Waseda email and then check the contents of the following page and get in touch with the appropriate contact points. 

For your queries about online courses as well as administrative procedures, you are recommended to contact via Waseda email. Be sure to indicate your school, department, student ID number, name and the detail of situation happening to you when sending email or a message to the lecturer via Learning Management System. (Course title and name of lecturers are required additionally when your query refers to your course.)

 If you have any system problem, please ask with following details: 

  • Your device (smart phone or PC, Mac or Windows etc.), software, application 
  • Your communication environment (fixed line or mobile, Wifi status) 
  • Detailed description of the problem (e.g. error message on the screen)

In case of system disruption caused by access congestion, a university-wide response may be sent from MyWaseda. It may take up to a week to respond to inquiries about the lecture content and assignments. To be more specific, answers to inquiries and questions about the first lecture may be presented in the second lecture. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

What to do first in case of problem 

Please check the “System Maintenance” notice on MyWaseda first or check the “Learn Anywhere” Collaborate Troubleshooting or FAQ. 

 Inquiry about system trouble, software and communication environment 

(1)If your query is related to the software and application designated for each course without discripsion in “Learn Anywhere”, please send a message to the lecturer via Learning Management System. (In case communication method is designated by the lecturer, please follow it.) 

*In case CourseN@vi is used for the course, please contact through “Message Center”. 

*In case you do not receive any replies by next class, please contact from below inquiry form: 

(2)If you need advice about the specific software in your department and learning environment rather than course-specific requirements, please contact your class academic advisor. 

(3)Please check the website of Administrative Office of Information & Multimedia Technology Science & Engineering (MSE)  first and if there is information about your network and software there, please contact from Inquiry form: 

(4) If none of the above (1), (2), or (3) is your case, please contact us from the inquiry form. In this case, please let us know the specific content you are unable to watch, the environment you are using, and the error message on your screen. 

Inquiry about Waseda Moodle contents 

1.In case the course you registered is not appeared on My courses on Waseda Moodle. 

(1)First please log in MyWaseda from “Grades & Course registration”. Then, please select “履修申請” and check the course registration results. 

*If you have questions about course registration, please contact through the Inquiry Form. 

(2)If your course cannot be found in My course list, it can be appeared on separate page by scrolling down. Alternatively, courses will be listed on one screen by increasing the number of “Show” in the course overview. 

(3)Your course title could be indicated as another one, in case your course is combined with other courses within Faculty of Science and Engineering or at other Faculties at Waseda University. In this case, please check with the “Course Comparison List” below or confirm the other course title with the syllabus or emails which are sent by the lecturer of the course. 

(4)If none of the above (1), (2), or (3) is your case, or your problem cannot be resolved based on the information above, please contact us from the inquiry form.  

2.If you cannot access to the contents of the courses listed on My course. 

(1)Due to the setting of the contents 

When it comes to the content in Waseda Moodle, start date and time is set for each class. Some courses may have preparation, but others may not be available untill the day and time of your class.

If you contact with the lecturer, please send a message through Learning Management System. (In case communication method is designated by the lecturer, please follow it.)

Also, please share your query with “Inquiry at FSE”. 

(2)If there is a system problem, please contact through help desk on Waseda Moodle, which is on the right menu after log in. 

In this case, please let us know the specific content you are unable to watch, the environment you are using, and the error message you are receiving. 

Inquiry about course and course material 

With regard to the query about the course contents (e.g. communication environment designated by the course) and materials (e.g. in case you cannot get the textbooks), please follow below steps and contact with the course lecturer. 

 (1)Check the web syllabus 
(2)In case communication method is designated by the lecturer.

Please follow that instruction. Otherwise please send the message to the lecturer through Learning Management System.
