The SILS environment, which encourages trial and error, helped me to grow

SILS, which offers classes in numerous fields and requires one year of studying abroad (for Japanese native students), is a modern school grounded in an attitude of “trial and error.” Over four years, I pushed myself to try everything I had even a slight interest in, and learned the importance of knowing myself. Studying a field that I thought I was weak in led to unexpected discoveries, which enabled me to foster the mindset to challenge myself.
Outside of university, I participated in several internships and improved myself. By rejecting preconceptions and adopting an open mindset, my “path” gradually became apparent on its own. After graduating, I was lucky enough to land a position working for Google Japan, but just like when I was a student, I intend to repeat the process of trial and error to thoroughly build my skills. Since I take pleasure in using my talents to help others, I will start my career in advertising operations for small and medium-sized businesses, while also employing what I learned at SILS to continue to make headway.
