Waseda University Library is not open to the public, but only available to visitors (researchers and students) who are doing research and who wish to use specific books and other materials that are unique to the library, and not available in other libraries.
We do not accept inquiries from individuals about our holdings or usage. Please contact us via your university or institution’s library or public library.

Eligibility:
Full-time teachers and staff, part-time teachers and staff, high school students at the above schools.
How to enter the library:
Full-time teachers and staff: please apply for a green library card.
Part-time teachers and staff: please apply for a blue library card.
High school students: please consult with the librarians at your high school.
- When you apply for a library card, your ID card and the application form filled out by yourself are needed. You can download the form from here or receive it at the Information Desk on 2nd floor in the Central Library.

3.Students, faculty & staff from other universities
- You are required to bring a letter of introduction issued by your university library and your ID.
- For details, please ask at your library.
4.Users from cooperative agreement libraries
Please bring your student/faculty ID. There are some libraries you can enter without a letter of introduction. When using libraries other than listed below, users need to bring a letter of introduction from your belonging library.
- Student reading rooms, Audio Visual Room in Central Library are not available.
- Request for browsing rare book collection and special collection is required. Please receive an official approval in advance.

- Browsing Books, Journals and Micro materials in the library is available.
- Lending, Using Internet (including wifi) and Audio Visual materials are not available.

Photocopying
- Please make photocopies only the necessary part according to the copyright law.
- “General public”, “Students, faculty & staff from other universities” are not allowed making photocopies yourself. Please ask to the staff of each library.
