２．Teachers, staff and high school students at Waseda University affiliated schools

Affiliated schools:

Waseda Jitsugyo High School, Waseda Junior & Senior High School, Waseda Shibuya Senior High School in Singapore, Waseda Setsuryo High School, and Waseda Saga Junior & Senior High School

Eligibility:

Full-time teachers and staff, part-time teachers and staff, high school students at the above schools.

How to enter the library:

Full-time teachers and staff: please apply for a green library card.
Part-time teachers and staff: please apply for a blue library card.
High school students: please consult with the librarians at your high school.

• When you apply for a library card, your ID card and the application form filled out by yourself are needed. You can download the form from here or receive it at the Information Desk on 2nd floor in the Central Library.

３．Students, faculty & staff from other universities

• You are required to bring a letter of introduction issued by your university library and your ID.
• For details, please ask at your library.

４．Users from cooperative agreement libraries

Please bring your student/faculty ID. There are some libraries you can enter without a letter of introduction. When using libraries other than listed below, users need to bring a letter of introduction from your belonging library.

• Student reading rooms,  Audio Visual Room in Central Library are not available.
• Request for browsing rare book collection and special collection is required. Please receive an official approval in advance.

For Keio University Members

• Available Libraries: Central Library, Toyama Library, Science & Engineering Library, Science and Engineering Students’ Reading Room and Tokorozawa Library
• IDs: Library use ticket or ID card (Full-time Faculty and Staff, Professor Emeritus Only), Student ID (*except students in Correspondence Courses)
• This service was officially launched on April 1, 2025.【Trial start】 (Added on March 13, 2024）
  Full-time faculty and staff, professor emeritus and graduate students can borrow books of Waseda University by following ways.
  *Services have been extended to graduate students since November 1, 2024. (Added on October 22, 2024)
  1. Picking up books at Keio University Library (personal borrowing request) “Keio-Waseda Library Book Share”
  2. Visiting Waseda University (admission and borrowing) “Keio-Waseda Library Passport”

６．Faculties / Graduate Students from oversea institutions with the University-wide agreement

• Faculties or researchers: Library card (Blue) will be issued. Borrowing items is allowed.
• Graduate Students: Library card (Red) will be issued. Borrowing items is NOT allowed.

Libraries and Reading Rooms

• Please request “Request form for Library Card” and “Application form for Library Card” using the following form of the International Office of Waseda University.Form of the International OfficeAfter you receive both documents by PDF file, please come to the counter of Central Library on 2nd floor in building 18. The library card will be issued for you by showing the PDF file on your smartphone and so on.

７．”The Waseda Fund Privilege Card” owners (Former “WASEDA Supporters Club”)

• The use of Central Library is available.
• Those with honorary titles/Annual members: Please show your Membership card at the information Desk. We will issue one-day library card.
  *Please note that holders of Waseda Supporters Club card issued before 2015 may enter the entrance gate with the card.

１０．SALA(Saitama Academic Library Association) members

• For Tokorozawa Library only, a letter of introduction is not required. However, please conduct a holdings survey through your institution in advance and bring the faxed response.

Browsing

• Browsing Books, Journals and Micro materials in the library is available.
• Lending, Using Internet (including wifi) and Audio Visual materials are not available.
• For using e-resources (database, e-journals, e-books) subscribed to by Waseda University, please visit  here.

Photocopying

• Please make photocopies only the necessary part according to the copyright law.
• “General public”, “Students, faculty & staff from other universities” are not allowed making photocopies yourself. Please ask to the staff of each library.

Rare, Valuable Books

• Request for browsing rare book collection and special collection is required. Please receive an official approval in advance.
