早稲田大学は2015年9月に大規模公開オンライン講座（MOOC：Massive Open OnlineCourse)の提供機関であるedX（米国ハーバード大学とMITが創設）を利用し、講座を世界に向けて配信することになりました。
その第一弾講座として、理工学術院・柴山知也先生による”Tsunamis and Storm Surges: Introduction to Coastal Disasters”の受講者募集が開始しました。
柴山先生の30年間にわたる津波・高潮研究が詰まったコースです。多くのみなさんの受講をお待ちしております。
講座の開講は2016年1月中旬を予定していますが、ただいま受講登録を受け付けています。ぜひお誘いあわせのうえ、登録をお願いいたします。

Take Waseda’s first MOOC on edX!
Waseda University will offer a six-part online course on coastal disasters, taught in English and made available to everyone around the world.
The course is titled: “Tsunamis and Storm Surges: Introduction to Coastal Disasters”.
This Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) is offered freely on the edX platform and is open worldwide to university students, high school students and anybody else interested in coastal disasters.
The course will introduce current coastal disaster research and damage mitigation engineering to young people in order to raise awareness and share scientific analysis of disasters such as the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami, and the 2013 Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
