How did you find out about Waseda University?
I have been searching for the best universities and institutions which could offer scope for learning and innovative research in wireless telecommunications. Whereas I found Waseda University as one of the leading institutions with most experienced faculty and I also believed that they could enhance my research and learning scope in wireless telecommunications.
Why did you choose Waseda University?
Primarily I understood that Waseda is immensely encouraging the research and it is one of the presumed universities not only in Japan but also in the world. I have gone through the university e-brochure and catalogues then came to know many eminent personalities have pursued their education from Waseda. Mr. Lee Byung-chul is one among many who is also the founder of Samsung company has graduated from here. Further, I have also noticed that the very famous scientist Einstein visited to deliver a lecture in the year 1922 and Jawaharlal Nehru, who was the first India’s prime minister, is the first recipient of honorary doctorate from Waseda University. In addition, Waseda has extraordinary collaborations with other global academic institutions in the world which is much helpful to produce innovation outcomes in research. Based on this high profile of the Waseda University, I believed that I can have better opportunity to do research in my interested area.
How did you get information for our program?
Regarding the programme, I have gone through internet and I found the particulars of the programme. Based on it, I have approached the graduate international admissions office to get further details regarding the programme and admission. Whereas the international admission office gave the instructions about the programme and it helped me choose a supervisor by searching faculty profiles on university database. Fortunately, I found a professor who is closely related to my area of interest and I approached him and shared my research topic.
Did you have any concerns before coming to Japan?
I knew that Japan is one of the enriched countries on technology and secured, but I had concern about to learn Japanese language for daily routine life in Japan. Whereas I did not get enough time to learn Japanese language due to very diminutive time during university and dormitory entrance procedure. However, right Waseda providing Japanese language courses such as regular and E-course training and I am putting best efforts to learn the language.
Have you had any difficulties when you started a new life here?
Yes, I have problem with Japanese language. I do face several challenges in communicating with shopkeepers and sales persons while buying things in shops and supermarkets. Further, I also confuse in catching trains with different routes due to language and it is also challenging task to get information from Japanese. However, I try to get information by using translator on mobile.
How is your life in Japan and Waseda?
Though I felt uncomfortable in the beginning with different language, culture etc., I am adjusted well with the environment in every aspect. But the orientation and introductory events in both dormitory and university helped me in getting many friends from different nations such as Kenya, China, Taiwan and Korea. In fact, I overwhelmed with admin persons, health center people for proving grater hospitality, kindness, care and guidance when I was sick after immediate admission. I found Japanese are very much kind and polite towards communicating with other people and it causes to no difficulty to me, especially care taker and resident assistant are assisting immensely if I have any difficulty. At present, I am very happy and much comfortable in Japan.
What do you do in your free time?
Indeed, I did not get much time in during the first semester to adapt new education environment and engaging with regular class and course work. Rarely, I do watch movies but mostly I spend time on reading subject regarding my research. Since I am food lover, I used to visit good Japanese and Chinese restaurants with the support of friends who know that language well.
How are the relationships with your supervisor and lab members?
My supervisor is very close to all lab members, transformative and immensely suggest about research work and he is used to share information regarding conferences with all of us. In my lab we have guest professor and assistant professors, they all are used to help us at any time if we require any information. And all lab members are very friendly and helpful to each other.
Outline of the research
My research area is Centralized Self Organizing Networks (CSON). It, mainly, focuses on legacy of existing and Next-Generation Networks (NGN) to configure, optimize and manage automatically by plug and playing the radio accessing mobile networks. In addition, I will introduce some new optimization techniques on radio network architecture for 5G.
What is your career goal after your degree completion?
I have great passion towards research which I believed that the innovative could serve future generations to lead their lives in advanced environment. So I would like to continue research which is highly depends on availing sufficient scholarship. Otherwise, I will find a job to attain better economic conditions and work experience. Then I will find best opportunities to pursue Philosophy of Doctorate.

To be honest, being in Japan is a delightful opportunity for learning. Firstly, there is vast developed infrastructure and commuting systems and technology which support and operate everything in daily lives of Japan. It is being astonishing experience to me so far. Secondly, Japanese universities particularly Waseda University, assist to enrich research with passion and commitment. I believe Waseda University is the right place to enhance, explore and implement your inventive thoughts for those who are having great vision on innovations.
