Why did you know about Waseda? How did you get information for our program?
Because Waseda have an excellent reputation abroad and a good website in English and cool Robotics projects. How did you get information for our program? I searched information for a scholarship program to carry out my PhD and I found some programs among which MEXT was listed.
How is your life in Japan and Waseda?
Life is good but a bit tight and too busy, the PhD program is quite tough and I can’t enjoy the student’s life like I should. I couldn’t join any club, and I have no time to go to the Waseda gym. This is a bit sad, because I think that the cultural experience is also very valuable.
How is the relationship with your supervisor, with your laboratory member?
I am a PhD student in Robotics at Takanishi lab. I have a good relationship with my direct supervisor, because my team is a 100% foreigners team, so I can speak with him without language barriers.
What is your career goal after your degree completion?
I think I will be back in the industry, and I will abandon the academic field. Research is very interesting, but life as a researcher/assistant professor is too tough.
