Section 2: Direct Application Programs (IMBA & MSc)

International MBA Program

This program is a two-year, full-time English-taught MBA, designed to develop globally competent business professionals with practical expertise and a strong ethical foundation. Rooted in Waseda University’s founding principles, it combines academic rigor with real-world application. Through this program, students gain the analytical, managerial, and leadership skills necessary to thrive in global business environments.

-With GMAT/GRE
Submission of either a GMAT or a GRE score is mandatory.
・There are three application periods held annually.
・Screening is conducted primarily through document review.

MSc in Finance Program

This program is a two-year, full-time English-taught MSc in Finance, designed to develop future global finance professionals with strong quantitative and analytical skills. Taught by leading researchers and industry experts, the program combines rigorous academic training with real-world applications across areas such as investment, corporate finance, accounting, and economics.

Section 3: Applicant Qualifications (for IMBA & MSc)

<For Applicants of International MBA program>

Applicants must fulfill one of the following requirements.

  1. Those who have graduated or are scheduled to graduate from a university in Japan by the entrance period that applicants wish to matriculate.
  2. Those who have received a Bachelor’s Degree from the National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Evaluation or are scheduled to receive such a degree by the entrance period that applicants wish to matriculate.
  3. Those who have completed 16 years of standard school education outside Japan or are scheduled to complete such education by the entrance period that applicants wish to matriculate.
  4. Those who have completed a more than 3 years program in a university outside Japan or are scheduled to complete such education and hold a bachelor degree by the entrance period that applicants wish to matriculate.
  5. Those who are designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology by the entrance period that applicants wish to matriculate.
  6. Those who have been enrolled at a university for more than three years (or have completed 15 years of school education overseas or are scheduled to complete such education by the entrance period that applicants wish to matriculate) and have been recognized by the Graduate School of Business and Finance as having earned a specified number of credits with an excellent academic record.
  7. Those who have been recognized by the Graduate School of Business and Finance as possessing academic credentials superior to those of university graduates through an individual entrance requirements screening process and are scheduled to reach 22 years of age by the entrance period that applicants wish to matriculate.
    * “University” mentioned in requirements 1 and 6 refers to a university which is approved by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan.
    *Graduates from three-year specialized college (zhuanke) programs in China do not meet the requirements 4 and 6. However, those who have graduated from a four-year (benke) program after graduating from a three-year program, and completed 16 years of school education will be considered to fulfill requirement 3.
    * Prospective applicants who are unsure if they can fulfill the requirements 6 and 7, must confirm their eligibility with the WBS Admissions Office via e-mail prior to the application for an individual qualification screening. Those who have been recognized by WBS as possessing academic credentials equal to or superior to university graduates are qualified to apply for admission.

Applicants for Family Business Successors’ channel need to fulfill the requirement that their family members run their own business* and they are scheduled to succeed it in the future.
*must be a listed company on the stock exchange or of similar standing and scale. If you are looking to apply using this channel, please inquire in advance using the “Company Qualification Verification Form.”

* Faculty of Waseda University including Waseda University Junior / Senior High School, Waseda University Honjo Senior High School and Art and Architecture School are not able to become a student of the University, although there are few exceptions according to the university regulations. If you have any question, please ask Waseda University administration offices.

Section 4: Double Degree Programs

DD with Nanyang Business School (NTU, Singapore)

This double degree program is a unique 14-month, full-time program that offers participants the opportunity to earn two prestigious MBA degrees from two of Asia’s top business schools—Nanyang Business School in Singapore and Waseda Business School in Japan. Designed for aspiring global leaders with interests in both general management and technology strategy, the program provides a powerful combination of rigorous academic training, multicultural teamwork, and deep regional insights. Students begin their studies in Singapore, focusing on core business fundamentals and leadership development, and then complete the final trimester in Tokyo, where they join the international cohort at WBS and gain firsthand exposure to Japanese industry practices.

DD with ESCP Business School (France)

This double degree program offers a unique opportunity for students to study at two world-class institutions—Waseda Business School in Tokyo and ESCP Business School in Paris, the world’s oldest business school with a distinctive multi-campus model across Europe. The program is open to selected International MBA students who complete Year 1 at Waseda and Year 2 in ESCP’s Master in Management program.This program cultivates culturally agile leaders with strong European and Asian business insights.
