FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

In this page, you will find the information that will help you to determine whether you are a good fit for the WASEDA Business School (WBS).

Each “round” represents a distinct period in which you may apply, not a succession of steps for your application.

Yes. Repeat application for later rounds in an application year is accepted.

No. We accept applicants with a wide range of test scores. GMAT or GRE score is just a piece of data among the many used to evaluate an application.

Regarding the kinds of test, we accept TOEFL, TOEIC, IESTS. We do not set the minimum score. We accept applicants with a wide range of test scores.

Although the GMAT/GRE is an important indicator of your academic ability, it is not the only factor we consider. In addition to your score, we also consider your overall academic record, the quality of your undergraduate institution, the difficulty of your undergraduate course of studies and the consistency of your performance at work. Candidates who are weak in one area of the application (low GMAT, weak academic record, or limited employment experience) may balance that with strengths in other areas (above-average GPA, outstanding test scores or exceptional work experience).

In general, work experience is an important component of any MBA application. For the handful of exceptional students who come straight from their undergraduate institution, we expect to see meaningful business-related internship experiences.

The best person to write an Applicant Evaluation Form (letter of recommendation) is an immediate supervisor at a current or recent job, or a university professor who remembers you from your time as a university student. The evaluator should be somebody who knows you well and can discuss in concrete terms how you have made a positive impact on an organization.

Yes, you can ask the evaluators to send the recommendation letters directly to us.

No, we do not introduce WBS professor to prospect students to keep fairness to all applicants. We appreciate your understanding. However, you can find the faculty information through our website.

From the date you submit a completed application, it takes approximately four to six weeks to receive a decision. As for the detailed date, please see the application guide.
