研究概要

This research aims to develop a safe, accurate, non-contact, and non-destructive thermal diffusivity measurement technology for low GWP refrigerants using the photothermal effect. To overcome the limitations of existing thermal diffusivity measurement methods, this research aims to develop a new measurement method with a measurement error of less than 2% by introducing photothermal spectroscopy

The research plan for the purpose is as below:

  1. Establish a theoretical/mathematical model of a new photothermal spectroscopy method for low-GWP refrigerants
  2. Develop an experimental apparatus with a high-precision optical system that is not flammable
  3. Establish a new thermal diffusivity measurement technique with a measurement error of less than 2%

Prospects:
The outcomes of this research are expected to “improve the reliability of thermal design through high-precision thermal diffusivity information of new refrigerants” and “establish technologies for evaluating future fluids such as nanofluids and fluids containing heat transfer accelerators”.
