Application for Designated University Students

This category is for applicants who are graduating from designated university undergraduate school. The admission screening will be based on overall performance on the required written examination and video interview, as well as evaluation of all application documents, such as educational background, academic record, extracurricular activities, essays, recommendation letters (applicant evaluation forms), language proficiency scores, etc.

Applicants may qualify for an exemption from the written examination depending on their GMAT/GRE scores. For eligibility details, please contact WBS by e-mail ([email protected]).

Qualifications for “Application for Designated University Students”

Applicants must fulfill ALL of the following requirements.

1. Those who are enrolled in the designated university (regular 4-year courses) at the time of application.
2. Those who are scheduled to graduate from an undergraduate school at a designated university by September 20, 2018.

For September 2018 Enrollment

A written examination and video interview (both in English) will take place on the same day at Waseda University Shanghai Education Research Center along with the application material screening.

Applicant’s Card will be sent by e-mail. Contact the WBS Admissions Office ([email protected]) if you do not receive it 5 days prior to the Exam Date.

Each “round” represents a distinct period in which you may apply, not a succession of steps for your application. Repeat applications for later round accepted.

(1) Acquire User ID and Password

Access the URL below and acquire User ID and Password.

 (2) Enter the application information through the Online Application System

Log in to the Online System with your ID and Password and enter the information through the Online System. Click the “Save” button to save your entry.

(3) Print out the documents

After you finish entering all the application information and save them, click “Download application documents” to download your application form. Double check the information you entered and print out the documents.

(4) Prepare all the documents

Complete the documents downloaded from the Online System. Instructions on how to create each form are shown on the “Application Guide.” Also, gather the documents that applicants themselves prepare (e.g. certificate of graduation).

(5) Submit the documents

All application documents must be sent by post and received by the WBS Admissions Office no later than the application deadline for each round.

Enclose all the required application documents in an envelope and send it to the following address by an international courier service for which you can track the delivery status such as EMS.

At the On-line Transaction Site, and you will be selecting the school, program, and application round through drop-down menus. In the Fourth Selection of the Category Selection, choose “Application with GMAT or GRE (Overseas Application)” as there is no option for choosing “Application for Designated University Students”.
