Hello new faces!
New students and new faculty members (of course for those in their second year and above) !
Welcome to the Waseda University Library!
Did you know?
Library materials are actually on the move abroad!
The world’s libraries are connected! Lending and borrowing of materials between libraries is a way for libraries to help each other’s patrons.
If you are in need of materials that are held at Waseda University Library, you can request books (physical items and photocopies) from within and outside Japan through the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service!
*In some cases, only photocopies are available instead of physical books, due to copyright protection or other reasons of the holding library.
**Eligibility for each ILL service varies; see the ILL page for details.
During library week, the Central Library will have displays of such useful library services.
Have you ever encountered the following issues?
- I tried, but didn’t get a good result when I typed in some keywords in the library’s discovery system.
- I am not sure what the differences are between the books, journal articles, magazines.
- For my report or dissertation, what are the right “keywords” to use when searching for materials?
- I don’t have a complete bibliography of the material I want to research. I can’t find it well…
- There are too many databases that Waseda subscribes to. Which ones are right for me?
If any of these are your cases, please come to the Reference Desk for assistance.
Library staff can give you tips on how to access the materials you need.
The Reference Desk of the Central Library is located on the 2nd floor.
Waseda Bear, the university’s official mascot, and our librarians look forward to your visit!
