教職員が「教える」ことについて自由に語り合う場として、”Faculty Cafe”を開催いたします。

授業における課題の共有、Good Practiceの紹介等、日頃感じられていることを忌憚なく懇談いただき、より良い教育を実現するための具体的な方策を一緒に検討したいと思います。

今回は文学学術院 印省熙准教授からのご紹介により、米国Grinnell CollegeのClaire Frances先生をお招きし、ALSO（Alternate Language Study Option）プログラムを使った（フランス語を例にした）授業実践を共有していただきます。

特に、チューターと一緒に授業づくりの経験や反転授業のコツをシェアしていただきます。

ALSOプログラムはGrinnell Collegeにて実施している外国語学習のためのプログラムです。このプログラムは学生の自律学習を促すもので、チューターとの対面授業ならびに大学のLMS（ブラックボード）の授業映像視聴・課題など、教室外での学習を通して単位取得可能なものであり、米国内においてもユニークなシステムです。

言語教育だけでなく、反転授業、LMSやTAの活用に関心のある方は是非ご参加ください。

【概要】
Flipping the Language Classroom with Technology: A Case Study from a Self-instructional Peer Tutoring Language Program

In this presentation, Claire Frances will give a brief overview of her college’s Alternate Language Study Option (ALSO) program in which students engage in self-instructional learning helped by peer tutors.
She will specifically discuss her “flipped classroom” techniques in which learners are expected to complete self-instructional modules before attending tutoringsessions in which they then engage in active learning strategies. In the ALSO program, flipping the classroom entails a) working with native speakers to build learning modules in the Learning Management System (BlackBoard); b) developing motivational tasks and accountability measures for learners, specifically e-portfolio systems; and c) innovating with gamification both inside the LMS and in the classroom. Professor Frances will discuss how building courses with tutors in multiple languages has informed her own French teaching as well.
