Research Summary
This institute conducts empirical studies examining firms’ voluntary environmental actions, as well as public policies for energy conservation, renewable energy, and emission trading. The institute provides evidence-based policy recommendations. We strive to develop new areas of environmental research by integrating interdisciplinary perspectives from economics, business administration, political science, and engineering. We will report our research results mainly by publishing them in leading academic journals and presenting them at academic conferences. In collaboration with overseas research institutes, we will conduct comparative studies on environmental
policies across countries. Our aim is to propose policy measures that are effective and acceptable to stakeholders. Additionally, we will examine developing countries where carbon dioxide emissions are expected to increase in collaboration with local research institutes. Ultimately, we hope this institute will serve as a research hub for environmental economics, management, and policy studies in the Asia-Pacific region.
