Link to our exchange partner toolkit: https://olemiss.box.com/s/kpdu1eo5pk2miyggy5ftv77gtyqi2oq1 We are not able to guarantee that students will take the courses they request when they apply. There is a state law in Mississippi that requires incoming international students to participate in tuberculosis testing in the United States prior to registering for courses. We arrange for our students to have tuberculosis testing as soon as possible when they arrive on campus. Then, we arrange for each student to meet with an academic advisor who helps them navigate the course registration process. I just want to be clear that we cannot hold spots or guarantee spots in courses until the student has completed TB testing. While students do not need to purchase our university insurance, they do need to have insurance that meets J-1 requirements. If Waseda's insurance does not meet those requirements they would have to enroll in our insurance.

Note from CIE office
※プログラム形態について We do not have a minimum (or maximum) language proficiency score requirement. However, if students would like to take 1 semester of Intensive English Program (IEP) + 1 semester of academic courses, they would need to place into our highest level (Advanced Plus) and successfully complete it with a B average. They are not required to take any IEP classes the second semester, though they can choose to do that. Students take a placement test upon arrival; however, if students have scores already (IELTS, iBT, DET), then we can guarantee placement into the Advanced Plus level. Minimum scores to be automatically placed at that level are: iBT 60+, IELTS 5.0+, and DET 90+. If they place lower than the Advanced Plus level, they will only move between levels during their second semester.
