Before applying, please see the precautions below.
1. If you wish to change your supervisor/subadvisor from second semester or onwards, please apply for the change by the form above.
2. Before applying, please be sure to obtain an approval from your current supervisor and desired supervisor/subadvisor.

Subsidies

Subsidize transportation, accommodation, academic society meeting participation, overseas travel insurance and printing and binding expenses for academic conferences sponsored by the Science Council of Japan or international academic conferences and symposia sponsored by international academic societies. Use “Grant-in-aid for Students’ Researches” for them.

1.Eligible Expenses
・General Subsidy will be used.
・Maximum amount is 70,000 yen per (international) academic conference or symposium (actual expenses)  and GSE provides actual expenses. GSE provides a subsidy to each student once per academic year for an (international) academic conference or symposium. Please be aware that GSE provides a subsidy two or more times per academic year if his/her budget in the end of December is enough.

2.Eligible Students
Regular GSE students (except research assistants) who attend conferences sponsored by academic societies of the Science Council of Japan or international academic conferences and symposia sponsored by international academic societies as board members.
However, this cannot be combined with the “Overseas Research Travel Grant Program for Upper-level Undergraduate and Graduate Students”.

3.Selection Process
Applicants will be selected in order of submission. Please be aware that applicants must meet the requirements and submit the following documents.

4.Selection Time
GSE can make a selection at any time. Maximum number of recipients is 10 students (10 matters) per academic year. Please submit the following documents by the end of January of the academic year.

5.Application Time
Applicants are required to submit the following documents one month before departure after deciding to participate in an academic conference as a presenter (applying for subsidies after conferences is not acceptable).

6.How to Apply
Applicants who will participate in academic conferences as presenters and want to receive subsidies are required to submit the following documents:

Business Trip Application:
(1) For short distance trip (less than 80 km):
No travel application is required (only travel report is required).
(2) Long-distance trip (80 km or more):
Please submit a business trip application via e-Trip.

・Please enter your supervisor in the “Approved Fund Administrator” field.
・Please make sure to upload your application documents as well.

Overseas Travel Insurance Application ・Only those who apply for overseas business trip are required to join.
・After confirming the documents and completing the premium transfer, please complete the procedures at the Graduate School of Economics Office.*
*After submitting the documents, it takes approximately 3 weeks to complete the premium application process, so please apply well in advance of the deadline.

7.Obligation
Recipients are required to submit a “Research Trip Report” (designated form) and must seek to publish research results.

Our university provides partial subsidies for expenses incurred by doctoral students, etc. for photocopying materials, necessary for research, conference participation fees and annual conference membership fees to support conference activities, and paper submission fees for submitting research papers.

Please kindly refer to the details below and conduct the necessary procedures at our office.

(Due to the accounting schedule, please be aware application could not be accepted during February and March)
