SILSには、幅広く学ぶだけでなく、専門的に学ぶ制度・環境が用意されている。
コンセントレーションを修得したのは、自分の専攻を決めることで4年間かけて学びを深めたいと思ったからです。国際教養学部の強みはリベラルアーツで、理系文系問わず幅広く学べることです。しかし4年間かけて学ぶ一つの軸も持ちたいと思い、一番興味のあった国際関係をコンセントレーションに選びました。1年次から4年次まで段階的に授業が展開され、必要単位数を取ることで修了として認められます。毎学期このコンセントレーションを基に履修を組むことで、留学から帰ってからも国際関係学を一貫して学び続けることができました。国際教養学部には、興味があることを幅広く学びながらも自身の専門性を身につけられる環境が整っていると思います。

The academic program and environment of SILS allows students to not only challenge in a broad range of fields through the liberal arts curriculum, but also specialize in a specific field of interest. SILS is attactive for its breadth of learning in the liberal arts curriculum in both science-oriented and humanities-oriented areas. However, I wanted to have a key major and deepen my learning over the four years at SILS, therefore I chose international relations as my major or concentration. Classes are provied in stages from the first to the fourth year, and by arranging the subjects I would take each semester based on the requirements of the concentration, I was able to consistently study international relations, even after returning from studying abroad.
