A special live performance by Toki Asako and a talk show with Ogawa Sara will be held!
Asako Toki has been praised as a "voice specialist" and has captivated many people with her powerful voice. Since her solo debut in 2004, she has been involved in a wide range of activities, including her own work, participating in recordings and live performances with many artists, and narrating songs for commercials and TV and radio programs.
In the first part, we will welcome Sara Ogawa (graduated from the School of Culture, Media and Society in 2019), who is active as a writer, filmmaker and actor, as a special guest, and she will talk about how their experiences at Waseda University influenced their creative activities, including their campus life as students and their career paths after graduation. In the second part, we will present a special live performance by Asako Toki with an acoustic guitar session.

Toki Asako and Ogawa Sara, both Waseda University graduates who are active in the worlds of music and film, are two outstanding individuals who shine in their own fields, one as a music artist and the other as an actor and filmmaker. They look back on their student days and discuss how their time at university influenced them in building their current careers.

TOKI Asako
Born in Tokyo in 1976. Graduated from the Department of Literature, Faculty of Letters, Arts and Sciences in 1999.
While still a student, she made her indie debut in 1997 as the vocalist of "Cymbals" and her major debut in 1999. After the band broke up in 2004, she started her solo career. She has performed in many commercials, including "How Beautiful," the CM song for Uniqlo, which she appeared in and became a hot topic, "Waltz for Debby," the CM song for Nissan, and "Gift ~You are Madonna~" for Shiseido. She has also participated as a guest in many artists' works, and is active as a "voice specialist" by narrating and hosting TV and radio programs. She has written lyrics for V6, Miki Imai, Yu Sakai, Tomoyo Harada, and others, and is also active as a writer, writing essays and columns. In April of this year, she released her all-time best album "Peppermint Time ~20th Anniversary Best~" to commemorate the 20th anniversary of her solo debut.
OGAWA Sara
Born in Tokyo in 1996. Graduated from the Faculty of Culture, Media and Society in 2019.
He began his career as an actor in 2014, appearing in the NHK morning drama series "Manpuku" (2018-2019) and the Hikari TV original drama "Yuagari Sketch" (2022). As a writer, he has written the novel "Goldfish on the Beach" (2021) and the photo essay "Cat's Neck" (2021), as well as contributing to numerous magazines and web media. His first feature-length directorial work, "Goldfish on the Beach" (2021), was nominated for the Jeonju International Film Festival in South Korea and released in theaters. Since January 2023, he has been a radio personality on J-WAVE's "ACROSS THE SKY". In March of the same year, he founded "Toomawari" as a base for his new creative activities.

Waseda University History Museum Theme Exhibition "Waseda Musicians♪"
The permanent exhibition area, "Soaring Roof Tiles," introduces a wide range of portraits of outstanding Waseda alumni and associates, categorized by field. Since the museum's opening, it has featured alumni who have made brilliant achievements in the fields of "politics," "literature," "architecture," "manga," and "journalism."
This term's theme is "music," and we will focus on musicians who graduated from our university and are active in a wide range of fields in Japan's music scene, from popular music to jazz and classical music.
At the venue, you can listen to his representative works and watch videos of his performances. We will also introduce valuable related materials such as instruments, sheet music, and stage costumes.
Come experience the diverse Waseda culture that is engraved in the history of Japanese music up close!
