Science and Engineering Library is the research library holding many journals and reference books in the field of science and engineering. At the time of the transfer completion to a present Nishi Waseda campus, the materials possessed by dividing for every subject of study till then were unified into the basement floor of Building. No.51 in April 1967. And it was named as Science and Engineering Library instead of the Library of the Department of Science and Engineering so that a science-and-engineering-related data center might be used widely. Henceforth, expansion of materials and equipment was advanced, books business was transferred to the library from the department of science and engineering on April 1, 1989, and the Science and Engineering Library was inaugurated as the 2nd campus library on June 2, 1989.
It holds not only online journals and databases, but also about 300,000 volumes of materials such as academic journals, foreign books, reference books, standard materials, and proceedings. With the Students’ Reading Room holding about 100,000 volumes of books (mainly in Japanese), it supports the research and education of science and engineering at Waseda University.
