中国返還前に香港にアジアを代表する研究機関を、という強い志のもと、1991年に創立した香港・新界に本部を香港の公立大学です。学部生約9000名、大学院生約4500名が在籍し、うち約４分の１がノンローカル学生という、国際色の強い大学です。メインキャンパスは香港の中心部からタクシーで２０～３０分程度、地下鉄とバスでも１時間かからずアクセスすることができます。一般的には香港というと、高いビル群、看板、というイメージがあるかもしれませんが、山と海に囲まれた広々としたキャンパスが広がっています。

However, FYP and Capstone Project courses will not be available to exchange students. Also, some courses do have their own restrictions, they may need to consult the course instructor. Postgraduate level courses are usually not open for enrollment to undergraduate exchange students. Courses of self-finance programs are not open to exchange students. Computer science courses have high demand at HKUST, thus will be difficult for exchange students to enroll into our computer science courses. Students are advised to be flexible in choosing their courses.

中期プログラム／出願上の注意ー Notes on Application to Semester Programs

留学が必修となっている国際教養学部の学生は、学部の許可をとった上で応募してください。
For SILS students participation in a year-long study abroad program is part of the general degree requirements.
Therefore, you must consult with your School Office in advance if you wish to apply to a semester program(s).
通年科目が設置されている学部に属する学生が春学期留学をする場合、科目登録ができず、帰国後の秋学期の授業を受けられない可能性があります。
その他、専門演習（ゼミ）の登録や履修ができない等、支障が出る可能性がありますので、所属学部・研究科に問い合わせ、よく確認の上、出願して下さい。
If your School has year-long programs, it is essential that you consult with your School Office before applying to a seminar program(s) as there will be a possibility that you may not be able to register for courses in the second (fall) semester and/or seminars (enshu, or so-called "zemi").
延長生となって中期留学プログラムに参加する場合、学費は延長生学費ではなく、所定額をお支払いいただくことになります。
詳細は各学部・研究科にお問い合わせください。
Students on extension (encho-sei) who participate in semester programs are required to pay the full tuition and other academic fees set by their Schools instead of the reduced fees for students on extension.You should confirm details with your School Offices.
