大学概要

ケース工科大学(1880年創立)とウェスタン・リザーブ大学(1826年創立)が合併し、1967年に私立工科系総合大学として新設された。Cleveland Museum of Artという美術館の協力で、実際的に学べる美術史の専攻に定評がある。また、Biomedical Engineeringのプログラムも全国的に有名。生物学、心理学、機械工学が人気の専攻分野だが、近年は一般教養にも力を入れている。州の代表的な都市クリーブランドに位置するので、都会ならではの美術、音楽、演劇、スポーツをはじめとする文化的行事を楽しむ機会も多い。全国的に認知度の高い大学だけあって、州外出身者も約4割を占める。

Incoming exchange students are able to take any undergraduate-level (100-, 200-, or 300-level) course for which they meet the prerequisite requirements, except within these departments: AIAE, USNA, USSO, USSY. 400-level and above courses are graduate-level. Enrollment in graduate-level coursework requires instructor permission and is up to the discretion of the faculty member teaching the course. Exchange students are not able to take courses at our professional schools (medicine, dental, law, etc.).

  • 留学が必修となっている国際教養学部の学生は、学部の許可をとった上で応募してください。
    For SILS students participation in a year-long study abroad program is part of the general degree requirements.
    Therefore, you must consult with your School Office in advance if you wish to apply to a semester program(s).
  • 通年科目が設置されている学部に属する学生が春学期留学をする場合、 科目登録ができず、帰国後の秋学期の授業を受けられない可能性があります。
    その他、専門演習(ゼミ)の登録や履修ができない等、支障が出る可能性がありますので、 所属学部・研究科に問い合わせ、よく確認の上、出願して下さい。
    If your School has year-long programs, it is essential that you consult with your School Office before applying to a seminar program(s) as there will be a possibility that you may not be able to register for courses in the second (fall) semester and/or seminars (enshu, or so-called "zemi").
  • 延長生となって中期留学プログラムに参加する場合、学費は延長生学費ではなく、所定額をお支払いいただくことになります。

    Students on extension (encho-sei) who participate in semester programs are required to pay the full tuition and other academic fees set by their Schools instead of the reduced fees for students on extension.You should confirm details with your School Offices.
