Q17-2: Are there any restrictions regarding course requirements (e.g. programs not open to exchange students) or other specific information about the curriculum?: Mount Allison University has 1st year, 2nd year, 3rd year and 4th year courses. Exchange students must meet the pre-requisite requirement to take upper year courses at Mount Allison. This means that they will need to have taken a similar course at Waseda University that prepares them for the advanced course offered at the upper years. There is a written language test on the learning portal (Moodle) for students that wish to take other language courses at Mount Allison. If students wish to take French, Spanish, German or Japanese while they are studying at Mount Allison, they need to write a short test before they can be placed in the appropriate level.

中期プログラム／出願上の注意ー Notes on Application to Semester Programs

留学が必修となっている国際教養学部の学生は、学部の許可をとった上で応募してください。
For SILS students participation in a year-long study abroad program is part of the general degree requirements.
Therefore, you must consult with your School Office in advance if you wish to apply to a semester program(s).
通年科目が設置されている学部に属する学生が春学期留学をする場合、科目登録ができず、帰国後の秋学期の授業を受けられない可能性があります。
その他、専門演習（ゼミ）の登録や履修ができない等、支障が出る可能性がありますので、所属学部・研究科に問い合わせ、よく確認の上、出願して下さい。
If your School has year-long programs, it is essential that you consult with your School Office before applying to a seminar program(s) as there will be a possibility that you may not be able to register for courses in the second (fall) semester and/or seminars (enshu, or so-called "zemi").
延長生となって中期留学プログラムに参加する場合、学費は延長生学費ではなく、所定額をお支払いいただくことになります。

Students on extension (encho-sei) who participate in semester programs are required to pay the full tuition and other academic fees set by their Schools instead of the reduced fees for students on extension.You should confirm details with your School Offices.
