Health insurance: In Germany, health insurance is mandatory for all students. You cannot be enrolled without valid proof of health insurance. You need a contract with a German public health insurance company. We do not accept private insurance, as some treatments are not covered. For further information, please contact Mrs. Seack. Liability and accident insurance: You are visiting a friend and accidentally trip. You fall against the table and his tablet breaks, just one example of unintentionally causing damage or accidents. A large part of the German population has private liability insurance for this. Although this insurance is not compulsory, we recommend it, as personal injury and/or property damage are covered by it. You are not covered by liability insurance through the University of Goettingen. Please ensure that you have sufficient liability insurance coverage yourself. Private liability insurance costs between 6 and 10 euros per month. Accident insurance does not come into effect until the beginning of the semester. Please ensure sufficient accident protection for yourself if you arrive before the start of the semester

We do not demand a proof or certificate of language proficiency. We do, however, have clear guidelines regarding the language proficiency that is required to optimize the chances for your students to study here successfully. German language proficiency equivalent to level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is required. Examples of comparable minimum scores (for your orientation): Goethe BE TestDAF TDN 3 At the time of application at Gottingen International, there is no need to submit certification of language level. However, when you choose courses you may be requird to submit the score which meets prerequisite by the faculty.

    For SILS students participation in a year-long study abroad program is part of the general degree requirements.
    Therefore, you must consult with your School Office in advance if you wish to apply to a semester program(s).
  • 通年科目が設置されている学部に属する学生が春学期留学をする場合、 科目登録ができず、帰国後の秋学期の授業を受けられない可能性があります。
    その他、専門演習(ゼミ)の登録や履修ができない等、支障が出る可能性がありますので、 所属学部・研究科に問い合わせ、よく確認の上、出願して下さい。
    If your School has year-long programs, it is essential that you consult with your School Office before applying to a seminar program(s) as there will be a possibility that you may not be able to register for courses in the second (fall) semester and/or seminars (enshu, or so-called "zemi").
