Educational activities are generally divided into two semesters: the first from October to January the second from March to June. Programmes at the Faculty of Political, Economic and Social Sciences are divided into 3 quarters: 1st quarter Sept-Dec, 2nd quarter Jan-Mar, 3rd quarter Apr-Jul. Please be advised that, even though the official beginning of the a.y. is 1 October, lectures in most Faculties already start in the 2nd half of September.

Basically, however, they will also be able to choose a minority of courses from other faculties.

The majority of courses attended should take place at the School of Language Mediation and Intercultural Communication, but a few courses can be chosen without restrictions.

Q21-1: Waseda students must purchase an insurance plan designated by Waseda. Additionally, are the students required to purchase a compulsory insurance plan (e.g., health insurance plan) designated by your university or country and region?

In order to take part in the mobility, students must have a health insurance and an insurance for accidents and civil liability. If they are covered by an insurance offered by Waseda, which is also valid abroad, they won't need any further insurance. Visa: UniMI will provde the students with an invitation letter for a study visa. Documents needed: copy of passport and address in Milan. Permit of stay: students staying in Italy more than 90 days must apply for the permit of stay. Cost: approximately 120 Euros. The International Office will guide the students through the procedure.

  • 留学が必修となっている国際教養学部の学生は、学部の許可をとった上で応募してください。
    For SILS students participation in a year-long study abroad program is part of the general degree requirements.
    Therefore, you must consult with your School Office in advance if you wish to apply to a semester program(s).
  • 通年科目が設置されている学部に属する学生が春学期留学をする場合、 科目登録ができず、帰国後の秋学期の授業を受けられない可能性があります。
    その他、専門演習(ゼミ)の登録や履修ができない等、支障が出る可能性がありますので、 所属学部・研究科に問い合わせ、よく確認の上、出願して下さい。
    If your School has year-long programs, it is essential that you consult with your School Office before applying to a seminar program(s) as there will be a possibility that you may not be able to register for courses in the second (fall) semester and/or seminars (enshu, or so-called "zemi").
  • 延長生となって中期留学プログラムに参加する場合、学費は延長生学費ではなく、所定額をお支払いいただくことになります。

    Students on extension (encho-sei) who participate in semester programs are required to pay the full tuition and other academic fees set by their Schools instead of the reduced fees for students on extension.You should confirm details with your School Offices.
