Required scores of the English language test (The scores should not be more than 2 years) ** TOEFL: iBT: 79 IELTS: Study in arts, humanities & social sciences subject area, usually require a minimum score of 6.5 in overall band (Depends) with a minimum of 6.0 in each band. **- Language and Culture (BALAC) program at the Faculty of Arts require an overall band 7.0 or equivalent and do not consider TOEFL ITP ** Study in physical science, life sciences, sciences & technology subject area, usually require a minimum score of 6.0 in overall band (Depends) with a minimum of 5.5 in each band. **-The Biotechnology (BBTech) program has just opened for exchange students for the first time in Fall of 2023. It came to my attention that the program strictly requires an English language test and refuses a certifying letter from the teacher or university.** - Please note that each program/faculty has its own requirements which all students have to abide to and they have to carefully go through these requirements. Some programs strictly require a language certificate but for some programs, language requirements are flexible. Thus, the OIA decided to recommend that all students have an IELTS or TOEFL score record as mentioned.

Q17-1: Are Waseda students able to take courses across departments/schools?
It depends
Q17-2: Are there any restrictions regarding course requirements (e.g. programs not open to exchange students) or other specific information about the curriculum?
It is important for students to ensure that the program they select aligns with their interests and preferences. Prior to the nomination and application process, students must decide which program/faculty they wish to apply to. Once accepted, they must enroll in the courses offered by that program. While in some cases it might be possible for exchange students to take courses outside of their host program, the exchange students need to go through some documentation on-site (e.g., course registration request) which they need to discuss with the program coordinator once they got accepted into the program. Please note that this possibility varies depending on the specific program's policies.**The programs offered for AY2024/25 will be communicated directly and posted on our homepage. https://www.inter.chula.ac.th/exchange/inbound/
