1928年に日本統治時代に設立された台北帝国大学を前身とし、1945年、中華民国政府により国立台湾大学と命名された。名実ともに台湾における研究・教育の最高学府と評されている。キャンパスのすぐ近くに地下鉄の駅があり、台北の中心地までも近く便利な立地であるが、大学の周辺も食堂や店が充実しており、生活必需品は調達できる。

Students intending to use their own insurance from Japan must obtain a verification from a Taiwan representative office in Japan. Upon completion of the study abroad period at National Taiwan University (1.5 years/3 semesters), all Double Degree Program participants from Waseda must complete a minimum of 0.5 year (1 semester) of study at their home university (Waseda). According to National Taiwan University's policy, all exchange and visiting students must purchase medical and non-medical insurance (valid for the entire program period) that meets the minimum coverage as follows: l Accident insurance worth a minimum of TWD 1,000,000. l Medical insurance worth a minimum of TWD 1,000,000. If the Waseda designated insurance plan meets the requirements above, our Waseda CS-L students will not need to purchase another insurance product. *Please note that the students must purchase the insurance before traveling to Taiwan, insurance info is available on the NTUOIA website.

*Please refer to the PDF for further information. *Upon completion of the study abroad period at National Taiwan University (1.5 years/3 semesters), all Double Degree Program participants from Waseda must complete a minimum of 0.5 year (1 semester) of study at their home university (Waseda). * Nationality: Please note that the students who are holding Mainland China, HK and Macau are required to apply for Entry Permit through the assistance of the host university. However, according to the Ministry of Education (MOE), they can only get 6 months valid entry permit in the first place; for their 2nd semester, the host university needs to report to MOE for extending in the middle of the semester based on the law, which cannot guarantee for sure. Students who only hold Taiwanese passport are not eligible to apply. Students with dual citizenship including Taiwan must report and discuss with CIE staffs. Students who have completed their study up until high school in Taiwan is not eligible to apply for this program.
