【Incoming Students】For Students who are Entering our School in Spring 2026

Dear Incoming Students
At the Graduate School of Economics, we will continue updating information on events, etc. for new incoming students on this page. We ask for incoming students to check for new information regularly.
1.AY2026 Spring Semester Courses

2.Spring Entrance Ceremony
The Spring 2026 entrance ceremonies for undergraduate and graduate students will be held in April.
Date & Time: April 1, 10:30- JST
Venue: Waseda Arena, Toyama Campus
3.Initial Setup of MyWaseda
In order to conduct the further procedures including course registration, it is necessary for students to finish initial setup of MyWaseda first. Please refer to the “Waseda ID User Copy” available to download through UCARO in March 27 for the navigation and conduct the initial setup asap.

*If you already have Waseda Mail address and want to request to reinstate your address, you should carry out 【Mail address reinstatement procedure】.

*For successful applicants of Internal Admissions by Recommendation(推薦入試)and research students, please issue the required number of copies of certificates for your current program by using the Certificate Issuance Service before completing the procedures for continuation of your Waseda Mail address. The certificates can be issued from March 15th.

4.Orientation Dates and Course Registration Guidance for New Students
We will conduct an Orientation for New Incoming Master’s Degree students (only regular degree students) via zoom as follows.
Tuesday, March 19, 10:00 AM (Japan Time)
*The Zoom link will be sent via email by mid-March.
*We will not be conducting realtime orientations/guidances for non-degree students, instead, will provide guidance videos and references.
Course Registration Guidance (for both regular degree and non-degree students) : We will be sending course registration guidance materials by email by mid-March. New students must prepare for the new semester by referring to the guidance materials.

5.Welcome Party for new incoming students
We will also be conducting a Welcome Party for new incoming students (both regular degree and non-degree students).
April 8, 3:00 P.M. (JST)
venue: Howard Hagiya Memorial International Student Lounge, 1st floor Building #3, Waseda Campus
*Light snacks and beverages will be provided.
*We will send registration details via email in early March.
6.Scholarships for Privately-financed International Students (for Regular Degree students only)
In order to apply for scholarships, you have to make scholarship registration during the designated registration period. Please refer to the email provided by the GSE office by mid-March for details.

late-March, 2026 (JST)
*The registration is not through UCARO for international students.
*For students who will graduate/complete their former student status at the Waseda University on 20 March: Please complete the procedures for continuing to a new student status before applying. (See “3. Initial Setup of MyWaseda”).
*If your VISA status is one of the followings, “Permanent Resident”, “Special Permanent Resident” “Spouse or Child of (Special) Permanent Resident ” or “Spouse or Child of Japanese National”, please refer to the “Scholarships” information on the Guide to Entrance Procedures.
7.Address Registration
If your address was not finalized at the time of enrollment and was determined after enrollment, you must register your address via MyWaseda by 11:59 PM on March 29.
For details, please refer to “Change of Personal Information” User Manual.
8.Submission of Residence Card (Mainly for International Students)
If you possess a Residence Card, after completing the steps in “3. Initial Setup of MyWaseda” above, please submit your Residence Card information via the following online form: https://forms.office.com/r/AtTdE1nn22
*If your Residence Card does not have your Japanese address printed on the front (the side with your photo), you must register your address at your local municipal office before submitting the form above. Registering your address will have it printed on the back of your Residence Card.
*Your student ID card cannot be issued until you complete this procedure (“8. Submission of Residence Card (Mainly for International Students)”). Those required to do so must complete it.
9.Student ID card
Please come to GSE Administrative Office (10th floor, Building 3, Mon-Fri 10:00-16:00) to receive your student ID card from April 1.
You need to bring your examination admission card/slip to get a student ID card. If you do not have your examination admission card/slip, please bring your identification documents (eg. residence card).
*If you have submitted ‘Notification of Delay in Submitting Documents’, please bring the documents as well.
*If there is a change from the address entered in the UCARO, please apply for a change from ‘View/Update Your Own Profile’ in MyWaseda by 23:59 ,March 31.
*Please note that student ID cards cannot be issued to eligible students who have not yet submitted their Residence Cards, as stated in Section 8: Submission of Residence Card (Mainly for International Students).

12.New students support
- Support Anywhere : Support Anywhere is designed to help students get the information they need online whenever possible.
- International Student Handbook : Waseda University provides a variety of support services to help international students’ academic and daily lives. This handbook lists the services and programs available at Waseda University for international students, and contains important information on daily life in Japan. Please use this handbook to create a wonderful student life at Waseda.
- Writing Center : The Writing Center is a support organization outside regular class. Undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty members in the university are free to use the center. Online sessions can only be booked in advance through the web.
- Intercultural Communication Center: Waseda University Intercultural Communication Center welcomes people of all origins and nationalities and provides opportunities for students to interact with each other. Please feel free to visit the ICC Lounge (1st floor, Building 3).
