JCulP has separate admissions procedures for Japan Students(JS) and Overseas Students(OS). Individuals graduating from high schools which follow the Japanese education system should apply as ”Japan Students,” and individuals graduating from high schools which follow the education system other than Japan should apply as “Overseas Students.” See below for the admissions procedures for each category.

Application documents

English proficiency test results (see Notes below), certificates of academic achievements, results of a university entrance qualification exam or a standardized test, statement of purpose (in English), etc.

Application timelines

1. Application period: Early January – Early February
2. Interviews (if required)
3. Announcement of successful applicants: Late April

• Acceptable English proficiency tests are TEAP, TEAP CBT, IELTS(Academic), the Practical English Proficiency Test (Eiken), TOEFL iBT, Cambridge English Qualification, and GTEC CBT.
• As for Overseas Students, if you submit a certificate for a university entrance qualification examination or a standardized test conducted in a country where the primary language of its education system is English (such as SAT, ACT, GCE A-Level, IB taught in English, etc), you are exempt from submitting English proficiency test results.
