Recognition of Credits Earned on Study Abroad

Credits you earn at an overseas university or school during the period of your study abroad are recognized as credits required for graduation as long as the Faculty Committee accepts them based on the results of a document review (and an interview with the Associate Dean if necessary) (there is an upper limit on the number of such credits that can be recognized).

Handling of Years of Enrollment

If you study abroad in an exchange program or at your own expense, the period of your study abroad is not included in the years of your enrollment at Waseda University as a general rule. If you want to include the period of your study abroad in the years of your enrollment at Waseda University, consult with the Administrative Office of the Faculty of Letters, Arts and Sciences before leaving Japan and apply for such inclusion after returning to Japan.
If you study abroad in a CS or double-degree program or study at Doshisha University, the period of your study is included in the years of your enrollment at Waseda University.
