Challenge your perspectives, explore yourself
Firmly believing that traveling is one of the most effective ways to discover, absorb, and negotiate with new cultures, languages and ideologies. A four-year-long experience abroad thus represents to me a portal to see the world from a new perspective and discover myself. Since I enrolled at SILS in 2019, I bear witness to a marked process of personal and intellectual growth. This process rests largely on the acute change in geographical context and the concomitant change in daily challenges and social interactions, as well as on the wide roster of well-rounded courses and insightful professors and students I have encountered thus far. Hoping to learn about international relations while keeping an eye on other fields, I decided to enroll at SILS, which multidisciplinary program promises to feed my insatiable intellectual curiosity. Taking courses from globally-implicated professors and other modules that analyze regional policy-making, SILS is providing me with a core training in international relations. Beyond, the SILS curriculum offers a panoply of languages to choose from, which represents a good opportunity for me, aspiring to work in the United Nations. SILS constitutes a melting pot where people from all over the world with diverse backgrounds and cultures converge for unique relationships both with the students and the faculty members. I have been able to enlarge my network and make friends from different parts of the world in the past three years. SILS represents a window of opportunity for anyone interested in studying in an international environment with globally implicated professors. I am sure you will make lifetime connections and memories.
