The Science and Engineering Student Reading Room will cease providing services at its current location on the first basement floor of Building No. 52 on February 3, 2023 (Fri.) due to construction work on the Nishi-Waseda Campus, and will resume activities at its temporary location on the first floor of N Wing of Building No. 55, from March 15, 2023 (Wed.).
We would like to ask all users to please pay attention to the following points and cooperate with us during the planned relocation.
(1) About the reading seats
Due to space limitations, there is no space for reading seats in the Student Reading Rooms at the temporary relocation site. To use the reading room and study materials, please use the reading room and Learning Commons area in the Science and Engineering Library located on the first basement floor of Building No. 51, or use the learning spaces on campus.
(2) Borrowing and Returning Materials
Materials in the Student Reading Room can be checked out until February 3, 2023 (Fri.). Please note that after that date, all materials will not be available for borrowing until March 15, 2023 (Wed.), when the room will be open at the temporary location due to work related to the relocation.
Due date will be set so that they do not fall during the period when the rooms are closed. Even during the period when the Student Reading Room is closed, you can return materials at the counter or return post boxes at the Science and Engineering Library (Bldg. No. 51, B1F). When you re-check out materials from the Student Reading Room or pick up materials on hold, please do so at the counter of the Science and Engineering Library in the same way as above.
(3) Journals and Reference Books in the Student Reading Room
Periodicals in the Student Reading Room will be moved to the first basement floor of the Science and Engineering Library.
Reference books such as dictionaries and JIS handbooks, which can be used only in the Student Reading Room, will be moved to the shelves around the north reading area on the B2F of the Science and Engineering Library during the relocation period. Please be aware of this if you wish to use them.
(4) Library Catalog Search System WINE Terminals
The number of WINE terminals in the student reading rooms will be also reduced due to space limitations. Therefore, please use your own smartphones, PCs, tablets, etc. when searching library materials.
