Restricted subject areas for exchange students: * Business Studies courses - entry requirements vary considerably. Please note the early application deadline! * Economics courses - no courses available from the Department of Economics * Government courses - limited space on certain courses * History courses - limited space on courses * Law courses - entry requirement of a minimum of two years of prior full time Law studies. * Medicine courses - no entry-level courses are taught in English. Students must have a strong academic background within Medicine and meet the entry requirements described in the course description. * Natural Sciences courses including Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Engineering - few to no entry-level courses taught in English. Students must have a strong academic background within these subjects and meet the entry requirements described in the course description. * Philosophy courses - only few courses available with high entry requirements * Psychology courses - only few courses taught in English with limited space on courses * Sociology courses - no courses available for exchange students. * Places on courses taught in Swedish for those with enough Swedish language skills can be offered if there are vacancies. Students will be notified of the decision only after the national (Swedish) admission process has been completed.

Applicants will be asked to evaluate their level of English (or Swedish for those planning to take courses taught in Swedish) in the application form. We request that partner coordinators discuss with their applicants that at least a B2 level on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is the level the students can manage. Definition of level B2: Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialization. Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

Uppsala University only offers courses on undergraduate and graduate (Master) levels and there are no courses for students on a doctor level which they can get credits for. I would like though to make clear that even though Doctoral students are welcome to apply to undergraduate or master classes, they will also need to fulfill our entry requirements and the entry requirements of each courses they apply to.

The living expense requirement for you as a student residence permit applicant in 2021 is at least SEK 8,568 per month. You must show that you have secured your financial support for the time for which you are applying for a residence permit. This means that you must show that you have money available through bank assets, stipends or the like, such as student finance from your home country.

  • 留学が必修となっている国際教養学部の学生は、学部の許可をとった上で応募してください。
    For SILS students participation in a year-long study abroad program is part of the general degree requirements.
    Therefore, you must consult with your School Office in advance if you wish to apply to a semester program(s).
  • 通年科目が設置されている学部に属する学生が春学期留学をする場合、 科目登録ができず、帰国後の秋学期の授業を受けられない可能性があります。
    その他、専門演習(ゼミ)の登録や履修ができない等、支障が出る可能性がありますので、 所属学部・研究科に問い合わせ、よく確認の上、出願して下さい。
    If your School has year-long programs, it is essential that you consult with your School Office before applying to a seminar program(s) as there will be a possibility that you may not be able to register for courses in the second (fall) semester and/or seminars (enshu, or so-called "zemi").
  • 延長生となって中期留学プログラムに参加する場合、学費は延長生学費ではなく、所定額をお支払いいただくことになります。

    Students on extension (encho-sei) who participate in semester programs are required to pay the full tuition and other academic fees set by their Schools instead of the reduced fees for students on extension.You should confirm details with your School Offices.
