In welcoming Graduation and Entrance Ceremonies

Dear Students,

The Graduation Ceremonies for the undergraduate and graduate schools and the Art and Architecture School will be held on March 25 and 26. The Entrance Ceremonies will be held on April 1 and 2, and In-Person Entrance Ceremonies for AY 2020 (April and September) Admits will be held on April 3. Although the new coronavirus infection is not yet under control, we have decided to hold face-to-face ceremonies only for eligible students at each of these ceremonies as an opportunity to remember their precious student life. In order to reduce the risk of infection and to ensure that graduates, alumni, and new students can start their new lives safely and with peace of mind, we would like to ask all students to observe the following guidelines when attending the ceremony. We thank you for your continued cooperation and understanding.

1. Only graduates and new students are invited to attend the ceremony. Guardians of graduates/new students, etc., may view the ceremony live online. Please note that we will not be streaming the ceremonies live on campus. This is our first priority to prevent infection. We fully understand that you want to send off your seniors and warmly welcome the new students, but please do not gather around the venue if you are not eligible to participate.

2. As a measure to prevent the novel coronavirus disease infection, please refrain from holding farewell and welcome parties and similar events, including personal ones. We understand that you want to look back on your university life with your friends and acquaintances, entrust your thoughts to your juniors, and send off your seniors. However, please remember that dinners and drinking parties are a source of corona infection, especially among the younger generation. For those of you who have graduated or completed your studies, this is the time just before you start your new lives in society. We hope you will act with self-awareness.

3. During the welcome week, all recruitment activities for new students should be conducted ONLINE. No face-to-face recruiting activities or distribution of flyers are allowed on campus or around campus. Please check the Student Life Division website for details.
