SILS approves and supports the first clause of the ‘Request regarding the appointment of new members for the twenty-fifth period’ (dated 2 October, 2020), declared by the Science Council of Japan to the Japanese Prime Minister. We request the disclosure of the reasons why some candidates who were recommended as new members for this period were not appointed.
