Professor URATA Shujiro was among the recipients of this year’s Okuma Memorial Academic Prize, established in 1958 in memory of Shigenobu Okuma, founder of WasedaUniversity, to promote the arts and sciences. Professor URATA received the Okuma Academic Commemorative Prize which is awarded to faculty members for distinguished achievement in research and contributions to progress in academia over many years. He was awarded the prize from Waseda University President TANAKA Aiji at the awarding ceremony held on Oct.29, 2019.
