Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program
[GSAPS Nomination] for September 2026 Entrance

Waseda University Graduate School of Asia-Pacific Studies International Relations Program has been selected for the International Priority Graduate Program (PGP) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). The PGP program, established by MEXT to support programs with international appeal to foreign students, provides priority allocation for government financed foreign students. The Program will continue from AY 2024 to AY 2026. A detailed outline of the selected program and the application procedure are as follows.

Embassy Recommendation

An embassy recommended, government sponsored international student is a student who applies to receive a government scholarship through the Japanese embassy or consulate in their home country. Please refer to CIE (Center of International Education, Waseda University) Website.

Students should apply for the scholarship at the Japanese embassy or consulate. The Embassy or consulate select students through document screening, examination and interviews. Please contact the Japanese embassy or consulate for further details.
