早稲田大学では、公益財団法人本庄早稲田国際リサーチパークとの連携により、地域の小学生を対象に、早大留学生による国際理解授業を実施しています。
12月7日（火）に本庄市立共和小学校において、本学院で学ぶ留学生リシタ・シングさんと学院生２名が講師を務め、6年生28名に対して、インドの文化やスポーツ、食べ物などに関する講義を行いました。児童たちにとっては、生きた国際交流を体験する貴重な機会となりました。
About the session （国際理解授業の内容について）
On 7th of December 2021, I (Rishita Singh), along with two of my classmates, went to Kyowa Elementary School. I was invited as a guest teacher volunteer by Honjo Research Park, while my friends helped me with translating the session from English to Japanese. I got this opportunity to talk about my country India.
We had the virtual presence of the honorable mayor of Honjo city. Later, I had a great time telling about India to the young minds who were so enthusiastic. We also had quiz questions within the presentation, which kept elementary school students’ attention fixed and made the class even more enjoyable. I taught them a few greetings in Hindi and they had dozens of questions to ask.
After my presentation, we virtually had Mr. Lee, the Chinese student from Waseda University who gave us insightful details about China. It was really nice experiencing the three country’s cultures (India, Japan, China) together in a single classroom.

It was amazing to see so much enthusiasm and curiosity boxed in one classroom. From how many spices to famous anime, the kids wanted to know it all. I am overwhelmed that I could represent my country and that students enjoyed the class. The fact that they were ready to answer any question, without the slightest of the fear of being wrong, is my takeaway from the project. It was indeed a great cultural experience. Perhaps, the best of all.

今回の国際交流授業では、異文化の交流、共有の大切さを学びました。外国の文化に興味を持つことだけでなく私たち日本の文化をどのように伝えていくかということが非常に大切だと感じました。自分自身も様々な発見があり、地域の小学生ともふれあえ貴重な体験が出来ました。
