Top 12% in the world and number one amongst private universities in Japan
On November 18, 2025, Japan time, the UK-based QS* announced the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2026, with Waseda ranking 227th, or in the top 12% of the 1,994 universities worldwide (ranked 1st among private universities in Japan).
*QS: A British educational company that evaluates universities around the world every year and publishes a variety of university rankings.
15th in the world for environmental sustainability
Among the indicators that make up this ranking, our university received a particularly high rating of 15th in the world in “Environmental Sustainability.”
